Best way to get from Epcot to HS?

I know there is a boat that will take you from the BW area resorts to both Epcot and HS. I was just wondering how time consuming it is to take the boat from Epcot to HS or are you better hopping on the bus.

I'm thinking the boat might be a nice relaxing ride, but might be more time consuming and I am not sure either if there is a direct boat or we would have to go to the BW resort to then transfer to a HS boat.

Lots of people walk...I have never done it but from what I hear it is approximately 20 mins

I did the walk from BWV to HS - i'm guessing that part was a 15 minute walk, just 2 adults able to go at a good pace but i think to tack on the walk from Epcot to BWV would be an hour long project with a 5 year old (should have added that tid bit in). May be we will try the boat route, beautiful scenery

The walk is a bit over a mile. How long that takes depends largely on your fitness, speed and comfort on your feet. In my experience, most people can complete the journey in 25 minutes or so.

The boat between the two parks is pleasant but slow. One option would be to take it from the Studios and disembark at the first stop, the Swan and Dolphin. From there, Epcot's International Gateway is about 10 minutes away on foot.

I walked from Epcot to HS....I think I made it in about 20 min. Its a good walk for sure. I'd honestly just wait for the boat. Lol. It might take you about 5 to 10 min longer, but its such a nice ride. And yes if you have a 5 year old, take the boat! :)

You can get on the boat at the International Gateway exit near the U.K. in the World Showcase. It takes about a half hour from there to get to the Studios.

Other posters here like to walk. I do not. I enjoy the boat ride, and I like to save my feet for walking in the park. :)

We love taking the boat - it is so relaxing but it could take long depending when you get the boat.

I enjoy the walk, and the boat is certainly more pleasant than the bus, but with a 5 yo that is a LONG walk unless the child is in a stroller! I would decide based on where you are in the park before heading to the studios...if you are near the entrance in future world, it would make more sense to walk down to the busses as opposed to walking all the way around and to the international gateway to the boat launch.

It's also a long walk from Epcot's entrance to the busses. I would absolutely take the boat. More fun, relaxing, and less walking!

Is there a Bus? I didn't think there was except after hours.

There is. So whether the bus or boat is quicker depends a great deal on where you are in Epcot (or where you want to be if you are coming from DHS). If you are at the front of the park, the bus is often a better choice. World Showcase - boat or walk.

As others have noted, the walk is about 1.1 - 1.2 miles, and that is cutting through the Boardwalk pool area. Some people can do that in 15 minutes, but that's a pretty fast pace. At a stroll, it takes most people about 25. But it's a lovely walk on a day that is not too hot.

If you're near the front of Epcot when you want to go to HS then just take the bus. (Same goes for if you're at HS and want to get to the front of Epcot... I find the bus faster than boat and then walking to the front)
If you're in WS then take the boat.
It takes about 20 minutes on the boat from park to park.

I am pretty sure there is....we usually walk but I know we have taken the bus before and I am quite sure I have seen Epcot busses at HS and Vice Versa....there are still plenty of people who travel to WDW and don't realize there is a boat/path between the two parks!

Here's another vote for walking. It's such a pleasant walk, through the Boardwalk and then a pretty path along the water. I do like to walk, though. If someone did not like to walk or was not able to walk the distance, I'd do the boat for sure.

To be completely clear, the bus goes from front of Epcot (FW through main gate) to DHS. The boat and walking path go from back of Epcot (WS through IG) to DHS. So if you're in FW, the bus is closer than the boat or walkway.

I was thinking i could plan it as a short break between parks.

but with a 5 yo that is a LONG walk unless the child is in a stroller
My thought exactly!! We are planning on going stroller free with her, but know she could use a little break to sit and relax. I am finding planning with a 5 year old and no stroller to be so tricky

So if you're in FW, the bus is closer than the boat or walkway
Good point to consider. I am a super early planner so even though this is a trip in April i am already roughly plotting our park time. My guess is with flower and garden we might get some tasty treats at the WS and then head to HS.

I love the walk, providing it's not crazy hot out. It's a really beautiful walk past the boardwalk and along the water. Only takes 15 minutes or so. Part of the reason i enjoy walking is im not beholden to the schedule of the boats or stopping at other resorts. Though the boat ride IS nice, but if i miss it, im walkin'!

With a 5 year old sans stroller definitely take the boat. It will give her time to sit, relax, and recharge. The walk is great and is what we usually do, but it would be quite tiring for those little legs and would likely take as long as the boat ride if you were going at a 5 year old's pace.
