Hi I was wondering what's the best way to get from BW to the Poly. for a Wishes Cruise? Also about how much time should I allow to get there?

Below is my original post from the Theme Parks & Strategies section. It was recommended that I might get more info in this section.

TIA!

-----Original post with background info-----

Calling all Disney experts! I'm starting to panic about the timing of things. We're going to Disney in September(free dining) and I have a 5:00pm ADR at Spoodles and a Wishes Cruise(leaving from the poly) at 8:00pm. I was planning on 1-1 1/2 hrs to eat then 1/2 hr-45 mins for transportation back to the poly. Also my IL's will be meeting us for dinner so we'll have a party of 8. I picked the earliest ADR I could hoping that we wouldn't have to wait long to be seated.

The Wishes Cruise is a birthday surprise for DH and my oldest DD. So I haven't told anyone about it yet.

Will I be cutting it to close time wise? We've never done ADR's before we've always just winged it. So I've never really noticed how long things took in regards to eating & transportation.

Also the Wishes cruise I booked doesn't have the music piped in. Will it still be better than watching Wishes from the beach at the poly?

Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

I would say that a taxi would be your best bet, but others will know more than me I'm sure

I agree with the taxi, unless you have at least an hour to spare. If you have enough time you could take the bus from the boardwalk to the MK and the monorail to the poly.

I'd try to move my dinner reservation to Kona or O'Hana. If you want to keep the secret until the end take a resort tour after dinner and get to the dock in time to surprise your kids.

Everyone thanks for the info. I think I'm just going to cancel the Wishes cruise and keep trying to get an Illuminations one for his birthday. Since DH wanted to go to Spoodles for his birthday dinner I can't really change the reservation without telling him why. Also if I told him we had to take a taxi back to our hotel(the poly) he would think I was nuts.

Thanks again for the great info. I would have hated to miss the cruise because I under estimated the transportation time.
