What would be the best way to get from Animal Kingdom park to Downtown Disney and how long should we allow for travel time. We will be going to see the
Cirque du Soleil at the 6:00 pm show ? Thanks for any info

They were at one point testing a direct bus from ak to dtd, but I'm not sure if they still are. If not then I'd say ak to akl to dtd. Give yourselves at least 90 minutes.

There are tons of ways, but my choice would be AK to Pop Century to DTD.

I would leave AK by 4:00.

They stopped the AK to DTD bus last fall.

Bus to SSR, get off at Springs, walk back to the boat area, there will be a path that takes you right to Cirque. The walk takes about 10 mins.

Or, bus to SSR and take the boat over to West Side.

To get to Cirque for 6, and you really want to be there by 5, you should figure on leaving AK by 3:45. 3:30 would be even better, then you wouldn't have to worry about timing.

If you wanted to forgo transfers at a resort, I would consider taking a taxi. The drive is probably about 15-20 minutes or so, so I'd plan at least 30 minutes for travel plus however much ahead of curtain time you want to get there.

Would work alright if we took the bus from AK to AKL and then bus to DTD from AKL ?

That works and it's how we have done it in the past. We also have done a taxi from DTD to AKL and for our family of 4 it was about $20 with tip.

Ok thanks. I have heard stories about the AKL buses being overcrowded with long waits. I hope that wont be a problem. Do they have taxi's at the entrance to AK park or do you have to call for one ?

We need to do this today. We have 2 strollers and an ECV so a taxi is not an option. We want to go to Wolfgang puck express. What resorts are good options to transfer?

Thats a good question. What resorts are the best ones to transfer to DTD ?

Is there a reason no one goes to SSR to get from AK to DTD? I do it all the time. You can either walk to Cirque, via the walkway thru the golf course, or you can get off at Grandstand stop (first bus stop from the parks to SSR) and just sit down and wait for the DTD bus to come. It should go directly to DTD from the Grandstand stop. Going to Cirque, I would get off at the second DTD stop.

I'm not sure about SSR because I'm not familar with it. We have never stayed there or been there before.

Since SSR is rather large and has multiple bus stops, I think its more complicated for people who aren't familiar with the resort and/or with WDW transportation than transferring at a resort with only one bus stop. I recommend Pop Century because it makes sense geographically and it has very good, quick bus service and only one bus stop.

True. My issue is that I find no resort, not even Pop, has terrific service to DTD. After staying at SSR, I have found it to be easy to navigate...especially if you know the names of the stops you need. But, everyone should do what they are comfortable with.
