Best way to get around???

We are traveling in a big party (8 and one baby) and we are staying in CoCo Beach the day before the cruise. My question is ... what is the best way to get from the airport to the hotel, from the hotel to the ship THEN from the ship back to the airport???
Another problem is we get off the ship at 9am and our flight is not until 6:15 that night. Should we rent a room for the day? Should we rent a car for the day? We have a baby with us so it will be a long day in the airport. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!!

You can rent from Avis one way to Cocoa Beach then again after the cruise. They will shuttle you to the pier (or have one person drop you then drop car & shuttle back). We rented a minivan in Nov for apx $60 one day. 8 of you might be a squeeze you may need 2 smaller cars. Do a search for Avis codes for best rates. The day you leave the pier you can go to Downtown Disney Marketplace for shopping, strolling by the lake, and eating, before your trip to the airport. World of Disney is our last stop for souvenirs and we always take final family photos outside too. You could also go to the outlet mall, The Boardwalk or another hotel for food & shopping with the car.

Hi MeMeMouse. One of the better ways to ruin a vacation, in my opinion, is to plan on waiting in an airport for hours on end with an infant. By all means look around for an inexpensive hotel/motel to use as a "base." Perhaps you and DH could alternate with other family members watching the baby - allowing everyone time to enjoy another activity prior to returning to "the real world."
