Is it best to book in advance or not? Right now, the rates for June seem really high to me. I'm hoping that in the spring months they'll start offering better rates to entice people to stay there. Thoughts?

Or, would it be best to just book now so that I at least have the room and then keep checking for better rates as it gets closer? If so, where do you search for coupon codes and such?

Thanks!

Kim

I am hoping for a better rate too. I just saw a AAA standard room rate this morning and booked it. Previously I just saw water view rooms. At least I have a AAA rate, which is a bit of a savings from rack rate.

I found $219 for August on AAA, have others found better???

I want 12/21 for one night to get the two days of FOTL. The best I've found has been around $229 but with the added taxes and extra person charges it winds up closer to $300. :headache:

Update: I just booked through Priceline (over the phone) and got a room at RPH for $219 (total was about $245). They contacted the hotel and guaranteed that the price covers up to 5 adults in a room. She said it was the call was tape recorded and gave me a number to call if I had any problem at all. They also had HRH and PBR, but I took the cheapest one since I mainly want the room keys for FOTL. :)

BTW, the rate is fully refundable up until a few days before the stay.

Is this not value season rates for after 14th Aug, as there does not appear to be AAA rates in their system yet, well this is what they told me.

That could be the case, that is the same rate we paid august this year. I did get the rate off aaa website on the hotel website it was $274 ish. Fotl really spoils you.

have been keeping checks on the AAA site as well as calling every few weeks, and while it shows up as discounted rates i would expect August to come down quite a bit more when they get around to getting the AAA rates out.
Seems very late this year compared to previous years.

Have others gotten less than $219????:surfweb: Just would really love to know. Last year I booked with a aaa agent for the $219 August.

Thanks:thumbsup2

We got it for $139 twice this summer using annual pass.

Around 8/20 starts value week and room rates do go down a bit. I'm not sure how long value season lasts there. I am thinkinh until the end of Sept. I have stayed @ HRH twice @ the end of Aug with a AAA rate between 180-210 depending on the date. Good luck!

What dates did you get $219 for in August? The best AAA rate I could find for August is $278.10. This is for the first 3 days in August booking direct with USO.

Are you able to book more than one room with an AP. Example, we are traveling as a family of 5, I prefer 2 connecting rooms....

Thanks!

Pretty sure you can book two. I think as long as it is one family you can use one annual pass for the two rooms.

When I logged into the aaa site it gave me the $219 for August 13 and 14 2011 those are the only days I checked.

On 10/28/10 when I first posted on this tread the rate on aaa was $219, when I checked again last night after the question was asked the rate and gone up.

We got the rate of $224 for to 2 nights at RPR 10/22 to 10/24 paid $448 total tax included for the stay. (family of 4 water view)

I found the rate online (AAA site) and then called my AAA agent because it would say there was an error on the page so I could not book online. I did have to stand my ground with the agent for him to see if they would honor the rate and they did.

When I come across a good rate again I will post it.:)
