Best way to do 6 days in the parks?

We are visiting DLR for Easter week April 18-26 and staying at the Villas at DLH. We are east coasters and usually at WDW, but have been to DL a few years ago for a shorter visit. Planning 2 days off resort for other activities, but since Disney doesn't offer a 6-day ticket, how would you do 5 days +1? A 5-day ticket and a 1-day ticket on the cheapest day, or a 5 day and a Star Wars night for the 6th day? We like to rope drop and then mid-day break, but usually out of the parks after 10, to rope drop the next day. What would you do? 5+1 or 5+ SW night with riding rides more of a priority? Is there any way to add a day to a 5-day ticket once you get to Disney?

I would try doing at least 3 days, 1 day in each park (no hopper needed) and then make your 3rd Disney window a wild card + Knotts. Ultimate combo.

You will have to buy the 6th day separately. If you like Star Wars, I would get that. However, you said you're usually out of the park by 10pm. So, I would only do the Star Wars night if you love Star Wars.

Should you decide to do Star wars, check the Tenaya spa activities a couple weeks before. You might be able to book sunrise yoga in the park or something like that in the morning. You won't be able to stay in the park afterwards, but it's a very unique experience.

Knotts is not far if you can go check that park out I would, if you have a car then Universal would be a great one day park as well

As for 5 days at Disneyland resort, Food and Wine is ending on the 21st so make sure to get everything done for Food and Wine as you can and while many times there are no fireworks on weekdays WOC is every day so if you need a nighttime show on weekdays go check out WOC

At Disneyland you will have Season of the Force and make sure to check out the new Star wars Projection show and if you can see fireworks on main street and in Galaxy edge because the ones in GE have different music.

Also if for anyone reason you want other live music outside the park look at the app and many times DTD has other live music at night time

5 days is plenty IMO. Maybe do a resort day at the hotel mid trip.
I know 5 may seem plenty, especially if you live in the area. For some of us East Coasters though, we want to maximize the value of our plane tickets. With Disney now adding Villas at DH, it would be nice if they had a 7 day ticket, even if just for Disney hotel guests. Kind of unreal that Disney lets you book a week stay, but won’t sell you a 7 day ticket. We have a 2 week WDW trip planned for the summer, and APs make the most sense if you are doing a 7 day+ stay.

You would think Disney would realize some guests staying longer would like more shorter days in the park than fewer longer ones and would sell a longer product to entice us to book more LLs and dining in the park that would offset any money they “lost” by offering a few more days at less than one day park tickets.

Since you will be there during Food and Wine, you absolutely should make Soarin' a priority. You will have what is my opinion the vastly superior California version. They only run it at Disneyland during the Food and Wine festival.

We used to have 10 day passes to Disneyland before Covid...ah the days of yore! You will totally enjoy 6 days. As the Star Wars parties aren't selling all that well, maybe you could get shorter queues at that. Myself I think I'd just suck it up and get LL with the tickets. That way you'll pretty much have short queues every day.

As a Californian who loves visiting WDW every few years, I totally get this. Definitely want to get the most value out of the plane tickets, which are a major expense when you’re coming cross country!

Unless you’re Star Wars fans, I’d probably choose whatever day is the cheapest tier and buy one day tickets for that day to make six days total. To save money, I’d personally probably just do one park tickets since park hoppers added to a one day ticket are super expensive and you have 5 other days to hop.

I agree. Coming from New York, I always spend 8 to 10 days in the parks and I do all the parades, shows, and a few tours and go to plenty of restaurants (Blue Bayou, Carthay, etc.). I stay at GCH for 8-9 nights. I love Disneyland. Flying so far, I feel I need to spend more days in the parks.

Of the options you gave I would do 5 days (3 Disneyland, 2 DCA) and Star Wars Night. But honestly 3 days is the sweet spot for me. If it were me I would do a 3 day ticket, Star Wars Night and then maybe do a day at Knotts, a day at Universal and then spend the morning/afternoon of Star Wars night at the beach.

As someone who travels to Canada we always get the 5 day (use to get 6 days when we were allowed). We never feel like we got too long and always wish we had another day but usually budget is maxed at 5. I would do the 5 and take a middle day to do downtown disney, the disney hotels (lots to see there too) and enjoy your trip!!!
