Best way to do 2 rooms at Cont.Resort Tower

Hello all,
I'm looking for the best/cheapest ways to get two adjoining rooms in the CR Tower. My wife and I have 4 kids, now ages 7,7,12,14. They're getting a little big for us to only have 3 "official' kids, and we're starting to need more room. I prefer the tower to the gardens only because the kids don't have to leave the building for food, games, etc. and i love standing outside my room and hearing the humm of the monorail.
Just looking for ideas on best times, discounts, etc.

If you have AAA, I would start there. If not, then value season is best rate-wise. Keep an eye here on the DIS for any discount codes that may come out for your travel dates.

Keep in mind that connecting rooms are just a request, and with two adults in the party, you may not get connecting rooms. Most people do, but there have been reports from people who were separated by a few rooms, or a few floors! If being in a connecting room is important to you, you might want to consider one of the suites, although these are considerably more expensive than standard rooms. Even in the wing, you might not get connecting rooms.

Personally, with kids that age, I would be looking into either renting points for a 2BR DVC or just renting one outright through Disney. Renting points can be a very economical way to go (but you won't hear the monorail from any of the DVC resorts).

I agree. We also are a family of 6 and DVC members. Staying in the 2 bdrms is really nice. You have your own room with a king size bed, a washer/dryer if you need to toss in a load, the full kitchen so you can cook if you like or just have snacks and drinks on hand. You will have 3 tv sets so less fighting over that.
