Hi, I just used the online ADR system to book a reservation for chef mickeys on July 5 at 7:15 am. After I booked it, I thought, "AH HOW AM I GOING TO GET THERE THAT EARLY?!" We are staying at the wilderness lodge. Before I had thought about how early the res. was. I planned to go by boat. Now I realize that the boats will not be running that early. So, I'm guessing my best way to get there is by bus? I saw on wdwinfo.com that the buses start running to the character breakfasts 30 minutes prior to the first seating. I just wanted to check with some "experts" and make sure that this was the right thing to do. We have not used the bus system before, btw. Thanks! :)

I had the same question for my bfast at 1900 Park and got many ideas. Most advised to guarantee arrival is to pay for a taxi (assuming you do not have a car) that way you can get there guaranteed and you can always ride the boat back.

hmmm...I see your point, but I'm not really a fan of taxis. We are flying down for the first time, so we won't have a car. :(

At the time I made the reservation earlier, there was an opening at 8:05...I'm thinking maybe I should change it to later? If I were going at 8:05 what would my transportation options be? I know that wdwinfo.com said the boats start running 30 min before park opening - that day mk opens at 9:00 and epcot has morning emh at 8:00. Would I be able to get on a boat at 7:30?

The buses should be running to MK as early as 6.30 I recall the responses on my post saying they also suggested that sometimes you can ask driver to "swing by a resort" no biggie if they won't the bus stops from MK drop off to CM is not that far. Not sure if you have any young children but we had dinner at CM Xmas day and walked to MK after dinner with DS in stroller and DD (5 at the time) I would say 5-10 min walk depending on how fast you walk

Thank you so much for your replies! That is really helpful. :)

If the boats are running that early to MK, then you could take the boat there and then the monorail (if it runs that early?) to the Contemporary/CMs. CR is the first stop off the monorail from MK.

There is a blue flag boat from the Wilderness Lodge which starts operating at 6:45 AM and it goes to the Contemporary, so if you are waiting for it at that time you should be able to make your ADR at Chef Mickey's.

We just got back in May and I had the same question...and here is the answer. I had early reservations at Park Fare and called the desk at hotel and you just catch the bus. They start running early enough for early reservations. You will need to catch a bus to like Magic Kingdom then change to bus to Contemporary. It really does not take that long. If you have any question about which bus to catch just ask the bus driver. We told him where we needed to go and he told us what bus to catch. (H:cool1:ighly recommend 1900 Park Fare for breakfast--Madhatter is hilarious!)

Great we have bfast for 1st time at Park Fare

We stayed at SSR (furthest from MK area) and had a 7:10 AM ressie at Chef Mickey's this past Monday. Although I was told contradicting information by the concierge at the hotel, the transportation people confirmed what I was told here. Buses do start running by 6:30. Our bus picked us up at 6:37, made the rest of the stops at SSR (4 others), went to MK and then took us directly to the Contemporary--all before 7 AM.

So, you should be fine with the WL buses.

Have fun!
