We are visiting in two weeks. I know I want to get 4 day hoppers with MaxPass. I want to buy from Disney, not a third party, despite price difference. I want to be able to assign names to each ticket in the app to make booking FP easier. Is the best way to do this to buy tickets through the app and then it will let me assign names to each digital ticket after I buy it? I've seen some on here saying they scanned their paper tickets into the app but didn't get to assign names. Any advice?

We just went yesterday, bought the tickets online and picked up at the park. When we scanned them onto the app our names came up on the individual tickets.

I will answer my own question. I tried to book them online first, and it asked me to assign a name to each ticket. I did not purchase this way because it said they could take up to 24 hours to show up in your email or account, and I didn't want to risk that since we leave Wednesday. I think tried booking them through the app. It also asked me to assign a name to each ticket, and they were instantly available in the app after I paid. Now the trick will be to have them scan the digital tickets in the right order when they take our photographs on the first day, so that the paper tickets match the app tickets, I guess, for MaxPass use. I'll report back on how that goes...

I forgot to reply to my own post! This worked great! I just made sure that I had the right paper ticket to match with the ticket in the app and the person being photographed at the gate the first day. Made picking MaxPass so easy since the names were on the digital tickets. I did write the names on the paper tickets too so we could keep those straight, since we used the paper tickets to scan in for FPs at times (as opposed to the digital FPs on the app to scan into the ride). Simple!!

If you buy online - they will show up on your app almost instantly - at least that is what happened for us. Sorry see this was an old post and you already cleared this up long ago.

No problem. I posted more information because this is still confusing and gets asked a lot!

I am still confused. If you buy tickets through the app or online, can’t you then print out the pdf and then use that to scan in your tickets? I don’t want to have to go to guest relations once inside the park to pick up a paper ticket. Am I missing something?

if buying online you print the ticket and go directly to the gate , they will scan your paper ticket, and if longer than two days? (not sure of their limit now) they will take your photo and you will get a paper card. and you are good to go.
I havent purchased tickets via the app. but I believe you purchase through the app, go to the gate, open app, and they scan your tickets ,, not sure if they give you a paper ticket at that point.. someone else should have an answer ..

All tickets now require photos, even singe day. Hand stamps are a gone.

You can scan either the barcode off your phone or off a pice of paper you print out right at the gate then it spits out your actual paper card stock ticket right there...which will still match the digital version in your app so you can use either. No need to to go to ticket booths.

If you buy via the app, you don’t need to print. The app has your digital tickets in it. On first day, go directly to the gate. Scan one person’s digital ticket from the app. Send that person through and have their picture taken. A paper ticket will spit out of machine at gate. Write that person’s name on that paper ticket.

For the second person, pull their digital ticket up in app, scan the digital ticket, person gets photographed, paper ticket spits out. Repeat. Just make sure that the person whose digital ticket you pull up in the app is the same person who gets photographed so you can keep track of who is getting which FP.
