I am going to buy AP passes. I plan to purchase the Disney Club card using an entertainment book code which will give me $8.00 off. They buy my passes with the DC discount. I figure I can save a total of $29.00 with the figures I got from Deb's site (3 adults, 1 child) after the Disney club card is paid for. We are DVC members so with the AP discounts I don't know if there is much reason for a DC card, other than to save the $29.00 and get the magazine. Do I order the AP passes over the phone? Do I get passes or vouchers? Can I just buy them at the parks and get the DC discount? My goal is to get the discount but have vouchers that are turned into passes on the first day we are at the park, is this possible?

You can order the APs over the phone, over the internet, at the Disney Store or buy them at one of the parks or DD. If you buy them at the parks or DD, you get the actual pass - it is active at purchase. If you order over the phone, the internet or TDS, you receive a voucher. Vouchers must be exchanged for the actual pass at one of the parks/DD. You can get the DC discount over the phone, at TDS or at the parks/DD. The internet system is not set up to accept the discount.

THe DC card does have a few different discounts than the DVC membership card. Two that immediately come to mind are 1) the discount on car rentals through National and 2) the discount at some of the DD stores - especially the World of Disney. DVC membership doesn't give you either of those discounts. For other discounts, you can check the DC website after you join, and there will also be info in your DC membership package. In the meantime, I've found WDWIG helpful for comparing discounts. Here's that link:
