Best way to book?

Hi, everyone

Now that I've decided to stay in the DLH (woo-hoo!), I'm just wondering if anyone has advice on the best way to book. Is it best to book direct through the Disney website or go through a travel agent? If the latter, then I'd be very grateful indeed for recommendations. Going through the DP website requires payment in full at time of booking and whilst I'm not against this it would definitely be preferable to just pay a deposit now and keep my cash in the bank for the next few months.

Got the fright of my life a few mins ago. Went onto the DL website and it looked as though the 2-nights-free offer was only on restricted dates! Ran a search and it's still on. Phew!

Many thanks.

If you ring up dlp direct then you can pay with a 15 percent deposit and i believe the remainder is due 8 weeks before departure

you would be able to book through a travel agent but normally they ask for the balance of the holiday a few weeks before its needed

i am booking next week for march and will ring them up to do it

good luck !!!

If you are able to pay in full then you can register with Quidco and go via them onto the DLRP site and book to get cashback. Depending on how much your trip is, it can mount up. I think last time we booked online it was about 6% cashback - we were booking 2 rooms at the DLH so the cashback was quite good.

I have recently booked by ringing them but only because we got an AP rate which has to be booked by telephone.

One thing worth noting is that Disney chargers a £16 fee for credit cards. When we used a travel agent they charged 2.5% instead. I sat down and did some maths the other day and worked out that if your holiday costs less that £700 (ish) then the 2.5% is less than the £16 charge although it really is a matter of saving a couple of pounds. If you're booking a very expensive holiday then it'd probably be significantly cheaper to pay the one off fee.

Thanks for the replies, that's very helpful info. I hadn't thought about travel agent's fees - it's been a long time since I've used one - and the Quidco tip is very useful as 6% cashback would be quite a bit of cash.
