Best way to book your trip?

We're going back for our third family trip next summer :) First trip was a last minute deal booked through expedia, last time we booked through our AAA agent. She was nice, and very responsive, but not a Disney specialist and I had to find the discount codes myself and then she applied them for us.

So, this time, I'm trying to decide the best way to go...Book through AAA again (we did use the AAA diamond parking pass, because we had a rental car...but this time I think we probably won't...), book directly through Disney (we have a Disney Visa and could get deferred financing), or book through another agent- I've heard good things about Dreams Unlimited, and Small World Vacations. We still have AAA and can get the discount.

I'm also wondering whether to book a package or room only. With our Discover cards, we can get $40 back if we buy them before the end of September. Last year, we did the dining plan, but I don't think we will this year (too much food!!), so that's not really a consideration.

Thoughts?

The past 3 yrs that I have traveled to WDW, I have booked my flight through Orbitz and my resort and park tickets right through WDW.com. I have never had any issues and this has worked great for me. WDW.com if easy to use and you can pretty much customize you trip pretty much how you want. I do this as I stay on property.

If you are getting a solid discount through AAA, that still may be your best bet.

I am a fan of AAA for booking a package.
I have also went directly through Disney Travel, and this mini trip were taking this Oct I am doing on my own...we rented pts from a DVC member and I am buying my tickets tomorrow from undercover touriest. I bought our MNSSHP directly from disney, and I will pay for our DDP once we check into SSR. We are saving alot by renting pts, but there is alot of trust involed there. Whatever you decide...i hope it works out right for you!

I agree the DDP has a lot of food, but just becasue it is offered doesn't mean you have to take it. We do alot of character meals that run us near what we pay for the DDP anyway, so for us it makes since. Not to mention a steak may run you upwards of $27 or so...that without a drink. But to each there own on the DDP...just remember to make your ADR's for your must eat at places with or without it.

I've used SWV, Inc. twice and am currently working on the 3rd. I can definitely recommend them! I'm also using my AAA discount....when available.
