Best way from Aulani to Cruise Port?

We are staying at Aulani Resort for 6 nights before our cruise. Since there is no place that has rental car returns @ the port, what do you think is best way to get from Aulani Resort to the port? Taxi would be pretty darn expensive since Aulani is about 20 miles from Honolulu. (there will be 3 of us - 2 adults and 1 eight year old)

You are right that taxi fare from Aulani to the pier in Honolulu is quite expensive. That is one reason why it can make sense to rent a car for your entire stay at Aulani, even though you might not use the car much during your stay. We rented a car for about $130 for 8 days, which is cheaper than paying for transportation to and from Aulani.

We did the NCL cruise first and then stayed at Aulani. If I recall correctly, it cost us about $20 to go via taxi from the NCL pier to the Alamo Rental Center located near Honolulu International Airport.

By the way: Alamo will not pick you up or drop you off at the pier. However, I saw a Thrifty Car Rental Shuttle at the pier when we disembarked the Pride of America. Perhaps Thrifty offers shuttles to and from the pier?
