This trip will be our first time visiting a Disney water park so I don't know much about either. Our 6 yr old is a good swimmer but our 3 yr old still wears one of those puddle jumpers.

I haven't been yet. We're going April 30 - May 7 to Disney World. The CM I made hotel reservations with seemed to think that Typhoon Lagoon is great for younger kids. I'd like to know other opinions too. We're staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter and Typhoon Lagoon is really close.

I would choose Typhoon Lagoon. Typhoon Lagoon has Ketchakiddee Creek for under 48 inches. This would be perfect for your younger child and the older can do the more advanced slides.

An alternative option might be Stormalong Bay at Beach Club Resort, depending on where you're staying, of course. It's like a waterpark lite.

We are actually staying at the Beach Club. :) Super excited about SAB but the package we have includes a free waterpark visit so I figured a day for that into our plans.

We went to Blizzard Beach with our 2 year old and 5 year old (who was not a strong swimmer) and we had a great time, we were actually quite surprised by the lack of restrictions.

Can't compare the two parks as we didnt go to Typhoon Lagoon, but we were at Blizzard Beach for about 4hrs and found there was more than enough for the little ones to do.

Blizzard Beach without a doubt. There's only 3 real unique features at TL and NONE of these are toddler friendly. Plus, the family raft ride is infinitely better at BB.

The wave pool at TL will knock you down where at The BB wave pool my 5 loved it. I've always heard that BB is better for families than TL.

The toddler area at BB felt smaller than the one at TL. My older kid enjoyed (3yo) but younger kid (1yo) hated both. The younger kid liked the kiddie pool the most (she wasn't into doing much except sit in the water). My older kid liked the slides at both and the splash pad area at TL.

If I had to pick one, I would choose TL over BB because there's more to enjoy.

My kids enjoyed BB more than TL when they were younger. There was more for them to do and it wasn't as crowded as TL.

We went to TL last year and really enjoyed it and was thinking of trying TL this year. We may have to rethink that -
