Hey all, I'm heading to Disney next month and my bf and I frequent the water parks, I'm clueless from a kid's perspective! We'll be with three girls, ages 2, 5 and 6 - which park would be better, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach?? :confused3

I love both waterparks and they are both GREAT! I will say that I like Typhoon Lagoon's SMALL kids section a bit better than Blizzard beach. It seemed more 'fun' for my kids BUT Blizzard Beach is great and is a bit easier to see more of the kids section all at once.

For kids that can swim and are a bit older (like 4 or older that can swim a bit), Blizzard Beach has nice tube rides for the whole family and a fun teen section. But Typhoon has an awesome wave pool. A bit too awesome for the kids - it practically washed me and the kids away and I got a bit concerned. The kids liked it but I was really worried about them getting sucked into the pool. It is definitely better for older kids and adults who can swim WELL. And Typhoon also has the shark reef which is a neat thing for the kids to see.

Have I thoroughly confused you yet?? :rotfl:

If you have the time, check out both!

Oh, one more thing, Blizzard Beach is a bit easier to get around. Typhoon Lagoon seems a bit more spread around. But if you spend most of your time at the kids section, it really doesn't matter.

We posted the same question before our most recent trip (We just returned on Saturday) and the most responses we received were for Blizzard Beach. We have a 3 year old and our daughter turned 2 while we were there. We opted for Blizzard since most everyone told us that had the best little kid area. We absolutely loved it!! Their lazy river was great too. The childrens area has lots of different slides and even has an inner tube slide my 2 year old could go on, which was great. The park was a huge hit with them and us. Have a great time!

I think that they are both great and have really good qualities. I don't think that you will go wrong whatever you pick. It is kind of like saying "what's your fave character?"

that being said, we went to BB on our recent trip and had a blast. My almost 7 yr old and small 4 yr old LOVED the ski patrol area. They would have stayed from open to close if we let them.

I concur.

I really also depends on the 2 year old. We have gone to both and my twin DD6 (at the time) and DS4 loved the wave pool at TL, however they also loved the older kids section and raft rides at BB. The kids section is also good at TL, but it is sort of removed from the rest the park and the height limit is 48 inches. BB Tikes peak is directly adjacent to the preteen/teen area which the older kid you have along would love and would make kid management easier.

Was the area you are referring to called something like "Tikes Peak" with the tube slide for your 2 year old.

We are a young family of 6 and am looking for an ideal "base" for the day.

Yes, it was Tikes Peak. I think my kids could've spent all day there. And it wasn't crowded so they didn't have to wait long to get on the slides. Have fun!
