We go to WDW every year but have never been to the water parks. Its just not our thing. But this year, DD25 may come, and would like to visit a water park. We will probably get the 10 day hoppers with water parks included, so there won't be any additional cost involved. Which water park is best for people who don't like thrill rides (and for DD12 who is not a good swimmer)? Is there a preferred day of the week to hit a water park?

You want to go to Blizzard Beach. They have an area for kids her age called Ski Patrol Training Camp. Also, the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon is much stronger and scarier for weaker swimmers. Going on Mon-Wed is always less crowded than later in the week b/c most people do the other theme parks first and do water parks later in the week.

Also the lazy river and family raft ride at Blizzard Beach is pretty tame and fun! There is still a "thrill" ride for the older (and daring) members of your party too. We loved BB for our family last year!

We find the slides at typhoon Lagoon to be much tamer then those at Blizzard Beach. It also has a "quieter pool" over at the Crush and Gusher area so you could avoid the wave pool. Share Reef is also a pretty cool attraction. Blizzard Beach does have the ski patrol area that is pretty cool for a someone who is hesitant around water but maybe too young for a 12 year old. My daughter at 9 was bored with it although she is a fish so maybe it's just her. Both waterparks are loads of fun! My family just finds Typhoon Lagoon slides pretty tame.

TL has a couple "thrill" rides that are awesome. But, the slides are just TOO tame for our taste. And the family raft ride is the pits.

BB on the other hand has just a couple real thrill rides (Summit Plummit, Downhill Double Dippers, and Slushin' Gusher), but most of the park is fairly mild - just not so mild as to be "boring", which is the case with most of TL.
