Hello

I have just booked flights for Orlando from the UK for the end of August so time is running out.
We will not be doing Disney parks at all this trip as we have done those before but will concentrate on Universal, sea world and Aquatica.

I wondered if anyone could suggest a villa community or area that would be a good location for us to stop. For the life of me I cannot remember where we stopped last time but I do remember we were a lot nearer Disney and the day we went to Universal was quite a long drive.

Thank you.

I'm going to move this thread to the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board for more responses.

If you're looking for a pool home you won't find any close to Universal/Seaworld. Zoning laws don't allow for short term rentals in Orange County (Orlando). That's why there's so many in Osceola County (Kissimmee). Vista Cay has townhouses/condos and is on Universal Blvd near the Convention Center on I Drive (between Universal and Seaworld).
Indian Wells is in the Lake Buena Vista area near the Walmart on 535. It's an older community with mostly full time residents and a few rentals. Other than that if you want a pool home it's those in the Windsor Hills/Formosa Gardens area or south on Poinciana.

I agree that Vista Cay is probably your best bet. Have a look on VRBO, I found a few on there when I was looking for our next trip but went with Windsor Hills in the end :)

Thank you I will check those out. The zoning makes sense as to why I was struggling to find villas near universal.

We stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek last month, as we did both Disney and Universal. While the resort is closer to Disney, it was only 20 mins to Universal.

Good Luck!

Yep, we gave up looking close to Universal because there didn't seem to be much. Sound like you have the Flexpass? :) That's what we are doing in August. We have rented in Emerald Island this time. Yes, we spend some time in the car, but it's not too onerous. Not like staying at the Poly and taking the monorail, but it seems going anywhere in Orlando seems to be a time-suck.

Have fun!

Thanks guys I hadn't realised the thread had been added to. I will look at both of those. Thanks again.
