I just bought into BCV and am asking for opinions about which rooms have the best views. I am also interested in piece and quiet. Can I ask for a room preference when making reservations? I am planning on a trip for the end of October, 2003.

Also, does anyone know the dates for the International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot for 2003?

I think the rooms with the view of the quiet pool can't be beat. They are the even numbers in the 20's - 60's, approx. First floor would be "120" and second floor "220," etc.

The pool is lovely and has a lot of lanscaping. There are little white lights strung up thay really sparkle at night. The whole area is very festive. I think a request for a pool view is "safe" as some of the views in the back of the resort -- the odd-numbered rooms tend to face back toward Epcot -- have been criticized here as noisy. Some also face a service road. I was originally assigned to #159 and asked to be moved as I have two little ones and the road seemed too close to our patio doors.

Hope this helps -- just my opinion. My room, #412, faced the pool and was close to elevators and laundry. It was a non-smoking studio and we loved it! I am hoping we might luck into it again next summer.

If you want peace and quiet - make the reservations at OKW - BCV is great - but it is next to Epcot! It is definitely quieter than BWV - but it is a happening area.

Food and Wine Festavial happens the middle of Oct to the middle of Nov - so the end of the Oct should be fine - try to go the Halloween party too.

I really like peace and quiet, and just returned from #339. Faced courtyard with a peek at Epcot. One thing I loved was that it was just around a corner, and next to me was a "cast members only" room so there was no balcony on my right. Nice and quiet. I was afraid that room next door meant housekeeping would be waking me up at 5:00am with activity, but I heard no noise.
BTW, my experience is that "quiet" pools sometimes are definitely NOT "quiet".
Does anyone know how to remove my countdown since I'm back?

There is a section of rooms that face a wooded/wetlands area that is very quiet. You will hear faint music from Epcot as well as the fireworks in the evening, but if you want quiet as far as the general area the wooded/wetlands area is the place to be. (Just a side note, there is not much to see here, but woods and some rooms get a view of illuminations).

The other views/areas at BCV would be a pool view, which is pretty when lit up, but depending on the day and the floor your on, can get a bit noisy. The garden/canel/Epcot view, most rooms have a view of Spaceship Earth, but right below the rooms is the Service Road and some say this has bothered them, although it did not bother me at all. Courtyard view, this is a view of the courtyard that connects BC to BCV, it is normally quiet, but does get a lot of traffic from people.

I stayed in 412 also.....the only problem I had with that room, was that dang light on the porch! Kept waking up in the middle of the night thinking it was day light! And there was no sitting on the porch at night without the light on....I don't like bugs to join me while I'm relaxing on my balcony.:(
