My family of 5 adults, 2 kids will be in the MK on Saturday 10/30. I really want them to see Spectro and Wishes. Where would be the best spot for viewing? How soon would we have to get that spot? How hard is it to defend? (Sounds like a war! ;) ) I was thinking of the train station platform, because then we could sit in comfy chairs while we while away the hours waiting. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I also see that Spectro is offered at 8 and 10 pm. Yay! How can I incorporate this into my plans? Thanks!

The train station is a great spot to see Spectro. But if this is the first time you're seeing Wishes I would suggest being in the hub so you can best experience the projections on the castle. You're going to need to get there probably 90 minutes early since this is a Saturday night and one of only a few nights that Wishes and Spectro are shown.

What might work, and I hope some others will jump in here and either agree or disagree, would be to see Wishes from the hub (I believe this is at 9 that night). Then go to the train station to watch Spectro. I know you can do that, what I don't know is if that will be enough time to get a good spot at the train station. If 10 were the only show the answer would be no. But the second show is always less crowded, so you might have a chance. If not you can stay in the hub for Spectro.

If it is offered twice in one night, ride the rides during the first parade. Then watch the second. It will not be nearly as crowded and you will avoid confrontations (not saying you are confrontational, but we've had problems with other guests many times).

This worked for us one time - we followed the first parade down main street and when it passed through the hub, many people got up off the curb to leave, we grabbed their spots. We had a good spot for the fireworks and the second parade.

By luck I ran into a great place to see Wishes and used this spot twice last year. Before you get to the hub, just about where Casey's Hot Dog stand is located, they rope off a walkway for use sporatically during the Wishes show. If you can get a spot on Main Street right where they rope off the walkway, you get an unobstructed view of the castle and a great view of Wishes. Since the walkway is only used a few times and very quickly, you get a clearing of about ten feet right in front of you. This is great for kids who might have trouble seeing over the heads of adults. In fact, the second time that we viewed from this area, there was a CM right next to me set up with a video camera taking a video of the Wishes show. He said that they do this time to time to check on the show and to study if there is room for improvement. I saw little room for improvement. The show is spectacular.

I'm hoping to catch this 10/30 too! I didn't realize there will be a 10:00 parade, you just made my day! Now I just have to make sure we all have naps that afternoon;) .

I tried the train station spot once and they usually are disabled persons there using the seats, at least I went twice and the seats were taken, I don't know if they got there super early (I got there an hour earlier) and I also had a little trouble with some of the spectators, there are always those that like to act like if you're not standing there. This woman and her child were insistent in edging me out, I was leaning against the railing! Finally I had to say something, I never mind making room for a child but this woman was all over me! Then her husband and son came and somehow I got moved to the back! I was with my 70yo Mom at the time so I didn't want to make more of scene but if I were alone I would of let them have it! I did get some good pics but beware of those pushers!

Thanks for all the advice! My kids really liked the suggestion about following the first parade around to the hub and getting good seats that way. :D

we have found that the porch outside the candy store in Frontier Land is a great spot to see and is usually not that crowded.

Last October, my family and several others found that sitting/standing in the middle of the road down Main Street was a great place to see the castle and Wishes. You really don't have to worry about crowd pushers there. You do have to watch out for stroller pushers going by!
However, don't get too close to the castle. We once sat on the curb right in front of the castle and while we had a great view of Spectro, we could hardly see any fireworks (this was before Wishes), we could hear them going off behind the castle , but couldn't see them.

We have seen Spectro and Wishes from the Train Station several times and it has been our experience that if you want a chair front and center, you'll have to get there at least two and a half hours before they start. It is an excellent vantage point but a waste of time if it's your fist trip. I also agree that the lighting effects on the castle are much better if your up close to it. It all seems a bit more magical right down on Main St. You should be able to get a decent spot down there about 90 minutes before they start.
