I watched from a Poly TPV room a few weeks ago. It was CL so I was in the Hawaii longhouse, second floor. I watched the following night from inside the park, so had both experiences back-to-back.
My opinion of watching from my Poly TPV room? It was great! As good, if not better, than always! Sure, you absolutely miss the projection element of the show and all the hub lighting (which is awesome, BTW), but I would argue that the traditional out-of-park places (like any TPV room) are still perfectly valid places to watch. It's still a great show and has quality entertainment value from there. There is more pyro than Wishes and many interesting colors, shapes, bursts - so at the end of the day it's still a strong fireworks show, in my opinion.
My only small gripes:
- Poly continues to keep the volume for the show way too low. I had grown used to this with Wishes... I knew the music by heart, I knew the scenes... so it was fine at a lower level. With this new show I was craving to hear it better as it was all new to me. The volume was just OK from my particular location, not great.
- The show has an extended opening sequence before any pyro or major lighting kicks in that kind of drags on when you're outside the park. At first you're like "what's going on" - but once the two singers stop their duet and the pyro starts, it's great!
- There are maybe a couple of minor transitions where you might get that same "what's going on" feeling, but frankly Wishes had that do.
I would suggest people also make it a point to see it in the park as well - it's a totally different experience. But that's actually one of the things I like about this show....I can have a bit different experience depending on where I choose to be - in park, out of park, etc.
And finally, here are some pics!
