We are taking my autistic 3yo DGS to WDW next Sept. This past 4th of July my nephew had fireworks at his home and DGS like to see them but seemed afraid of the noise. Which brings me to my question, where is the best location to see the Wishes fireworks with the least noise? I've gone multiple times to WDW but never with a toddler, so kinda new at this. He is used to noisy environments but the fireworks' noises were a little much for him. We are staying at AoA if that helps. TIA :thumbsup2

Maybe from the beach at the Poly, or the boat ride to/from Wilderness Lodge? I imagine you'd have to get REALLY far away for the noise to be all gone as we could still them, albeit muffled, in our room at WL. Another option would be to carry along a pair of hearing protectors such as you can find at a hardware store for working with power tools. My oldest is very auditory defensive and those "earmuffs" allow him to do a lot that was intolerable, at an age when he was still really too young for ear plugs. Hope that helps! :-)

Thank you Jenny, I hadn't thought of the ear muff thing.:thumbsup2

My 2.5 yo son exhibits some signs of SPD and we were hoping that he would be OK with fireworks as long as he had ear protection, but unfortunately he wasn't. He could still feel the booms and that really worried him. We are heading to WDW in Dec and planning on watching from the beach at the Poly to lessen the physical impact and will still bring hearing protection.

For my autistic kids we use the ear muffs but actually forgot them for our past may disney trip. We ended up watching the fireworks from the bridge were splash mountain is. Not the big drop but the other wooden bridge were they comme around after the big drop. It was nice and not too loud. The kids handled it well.

If you stand just outside then entrance to MK or on the train platform, you will also beat much of the crowd for transportation back to your hotel. Sometimes the huge crowds bother kids too.

I would sit on the beach at the Poly very relaxing and a great view. You will also avoid the mob that leaves when they end by watching it here.
