Best video camera for an 11 year old

I posted this on the Photography Board, but I haven't gotten any responses yet. I thought that I'd give it a try here.

My son is a budding videographer (he's almost 12 yrs. old). Right now he uses his Nikon Coolpix camera to make all his videos. He's been loving it, but it can be rather tedious having to balance it on a table when shooting himself. We are hoping to get him a small hand-held video camera for Christmas, but we have no clue how to pick one out. He mostly does a lot of self video taping and "stop-action" movies that he posts on YouTube and sends to friends and family. We will also be using this camera for our trips to Disney and recording his piano recitals...we would also like it to record decently in low-light. Our price range is around $300-$400.

I would greatly appreciate any camera recommendations and/or places to purchase it.

I just bought my son a Flip. It is easy to use and I got one that is HD! Less than $200.

Yes, I actually have a Flip through my work. We are looking for one that is a bit more advanced. We want it to record nicely in low light or evening. My son also says the editing software for the Flip is a bit too basic for what he wants to do, and that it's tedious to transfer its video to other software.
