Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Disney

Some of my favorite vegetarian dishes have been the veggie lasagna at Chefs de France (Epcot) and the grilled veggie stuffed pasta at Asherkus (Norway). I've also found great options at Boma, Tusker House, and Crystal Palace buffets.

Don't be afraid to call and ask a restaurant to make a vegetarian dish if they don't normally offer one. Two of my absolute favorite meals have been at Ohana and the Hoop de doo Review (surprisingly)! I was a bit nervous when I went to Ohana because Chef TJ was not working, and I have read about some other chefs being less than enthusiastic about veggie meals. I got a wonderfully delicious dish with tofu, white rice, veggies, and a great teriyaki sauce. At HDDR I got delicious grilled veggies which were seasoned very very well, which paired with the potato, cornbread, and salad was more than enough.

Have fun on your trip!!

Tusker House (in the Animal Kingdom) has an amazing buffet! I'm vegetarian, and DH is not, and we both really enjoy this restaurant. I normally don't choose to eat at Disney buffets because I think they're not worth the price, but Tusker House is exceptional. Your friend can approach a chef (there is always a chef or two in the buffet area), the chef will be happy to lead your friend around and tell her which dishes are vegetarian, which are vegan, and which to avoid (for instance, there was a mousse on the dessert table made with gelatin).

Most of the non-buffet restaurants at Disney have ONE vegetarian option--some of the places I enjoy the vegetarian entrees are Mama Melrose (Hollywood Studios), Kouzinas (Boardwalk), the Mexican table service in Epcot (most unique atmosphere of any Disney restaurant!) and Chefs de France in Epcot.

You know I have been reading reviews and looking at menus and honestly I think I want some of those dishes. They look yummy

Buffets are usually a good choice but Disney buffets other than Boma aren't anything to write home about.

Boma has Cous-Cous, vegetables, a multitude of fresh salads/dressings (cilantro vinaigrette, yum) and wonderful soups ( carrot soup & tomato, two of our favorites).
Columbia Harbor House has salads and tuna on whole grain, my friend the vegetarian does eat fish!
Sunshine Seasons has a really good roasted beet salad and vegetarian chili.
Le Cellier's beer cheese soup has no meat, I don't know if cheese is an issue, you can get the mushroom risotto as a meal instead of a side, it's hearty.
Restaurant Marrakesh has a fantastic vegetable cous-cous!
France's restaurant has one of the best adult mac/cheese not your run of the mill Kraft box, again if cheese is not an issue.

IE: Most French Onion soup is made with a beef broth, some vegetarian's are more stringent than others! I think it's important to communicate what you need or want.

and of course, any Disney Chef can be requested to make a vegetatian dish such as grilled vegetables, pasta, rice etc.

Good Luck!

Le Cellier's beer cheese soup has no meat, I don't know if cheese is an issue...

It does have small pieces bacon cooked in the soup & I'm pretty sure that they use a chicken broth for it also. The soups at WDW can be tricky b/c even the ones w/o pieces of meat in them are often made with a meat or poultry broth. If you add "vegetarian" to your reservation then the chef will explain which items are veggie-friendly, which ones aren't, & which ones can be modified to have the original recipe's meat omitted.

I'm a vegetarian and my favorite places to eat were at:

#1 Sanaa - This restaurant carries african/indian cuisine.... VERY yummy!

#2 Ohana's - I had a wonderful experience there, although we went during a very slow time of the year. I definitely had special treatment from the chef!
