We're going the end of Aug, not on free dining. DD and DGS4 are vegetarians. The other 4 of us are not. Staying at AKV and hitting all the parks. What are the best places and meals, both TS and CS?

Thanks.

I love BOMA!!!
Also, the stuffed pepper at 50s Prime Time Cafe was excellent.
California Grill does a veggie platter not on the menu called Vegetarian Unplugged. Also, their veg sushi was excellent.
I have heard that Crystal Palace is also good for veggies.

As for CS, Columbia Harbour House in the MK has a great veggie sandwich and veggie chili. Tangerine Cafe in Epcot does a good veggie platter. Tusker house I hear is similar to Boma now so that would be good. No CS in HS is memorable.

To clarify Tusker House is no longer CS.

Some of our veggie favorites:

Spoodles -- huge selection of appetizers and salads. At least one veggie entree, usually one not listed, and they will take meat or fish out of a couple of others

Cape May -- great salads, veggie dishes, chef has always made us a veggie pasta dish if the pasta on the buffet has meat in it. Usually have on truly vegetarian soup.

Tusker House buffet - huge selection of veggie dishes

Counter Service:
DHS - Grilled sandwich at Backlot, pizza and ceasar salad at Pizza Planet
Epcot -- Many selections at Sunshine Seasons in the Land pavilion, including cuban sandwich, lo mein, fried rice, stir fried veggies, packaged salads, and usually one of the soups is truly vegetarian (no meat stock)
Epcot - Tangerine cafe has great tabouleh, hummus, and more
MK - veggie chili and veggie sandwich at Columbia Harbor House
MK -- veggie egg rolls in Adventureland
AK - only thing I know of is pizza and ceasar salad at Pizzafari
boardwalk bakery - grilled veggie panini

There are many more options, but these are places we seem to go back to on every trip.

For instance, there are veggie wraps at the Electric Umbrella in Epcot (not bad) and one at Cosmic Ray's in MK (tasteless). But others may like these.

One other note! You can get a veggie burger in just about any place that offers regular burgers, even if you don't see it on the menu, just ask. I don't like veggie burgers, but my kids and DH do. :)

Are they vegan or will they eat dairy/eggs? My family are pescetarian. We have found the best thing for us for TS are buffets. There are plenty of choices. We especially love breakfast at Crystal Palace in MK. It is a character meal with Pooh & Friends, so your DGS would probably love it. They have an omelet and pancake station as well as Pooh shaped waffles. We also love breakfast at Azkerhaus in Epcot. It is 1/2 buffet(cold stuff and breads) and 1/2 family style(hot food). The cheesy potatoes are wonderful. For dinner we love 1900 Park Faire. They had a pasta station which was great.

For CS meals, we usually opted for pizza or fish & chips. A good CS with lots of options is Sunshine Seasons in Epcot. It is more cafeteria style and has great choices.

In MK:

Crystal Palace was good. Also, Cosmic Rays (CS) serves veggie burgers AND has a really nice toppings bar. The veggie burgers at the WDW restaurants are pretty good, especially when you can pile lots of things on them. I heard Pecos Bill has a veggie wrap but I have not tried it.

In Epcot:

There are lots of things in Epcot besides the veggie burgers. For CS, I really liked Sunshine Seasons in Future World (Land pavilion). Also, Teppan Edo is outstanding (Japan TS) and does excellent vegan as well. You do have to watch everyone else's meat being grilled, but they cook your veggies first on a clean grill. I also ate well at Chefs de France, Le Cellier, and Rose and Crown.

In AK, there is the pizza place and veggie burgers at the CS place in dino-land (can't remember the name), which has the nice toppings bar again.

At MGM, there are the ubiquitous veggie burgers, or else I liked the cheese pizza at Toy Story Pizza Planet for CS.

Good luck!
Mary
