Thinking about staying on grounds for a October 2016 trip and looking at the value resorts. We don't plan on being in our room much, but utilizing the pool area. Out of the value resorts, what is the best for a family of 3? (2 adults and 1 8 year old girl)

Thank you!

I've only stayed at ASMovies and POP. My family enjoyed both, but we give POP the edge, because it was easy to walk back-and-forth to AoA. When the parks closed, we would pick the bus stop with the shortest line.

The values are all pretty similar. Pick the theme that appeals to you the most. Be aware that at AoA the walk from the LM rooms is pretty far so, unless you are going to spring for a suite, keep that in mind.

We have stayed at all of them, you may want to stay at the one with the theme that your DD likes best. As far as my opinion goes All Star Sports, the all stars and POP are all about the same to us but this one has the smallest layout and we do not pay for preferred rooms so it has the shortest walk to the food court & buses.

I agree with this! The advantage of POP is that it is walking distance to AoA which is fun for the theming, picture ops and extra food court. All Star resorts are each much the same but with different styles of giant icons scattered about. All Star resorts feel a little less crowded to me though (could be just my impression). ASMu is pretty, but the layout means that some rooms are very far from the food court, buses, etc. The ASSp is the most compact layout and is the first pick up/dropoff resort when sharing buses. Many like the ASMo theming just because it is themed after Disney animation, which seems to equal "Disney" to young families. Of course, the Disney animation theming is at its peak at AoA, but rooms there are decidedly more expensive (especially the suites). The only standard rooms at AoA (Little mermaid section) are a good walk from the food court and buses.

If you like the theming and want a standard room, then the ASSp is the best of the All Stars, IMO, but PoP would be my top pick overall.

POP for the reasons here:
-You get access to two hotels which unlocks things like:
-- Catching either bus.
-- Both food courts.
-- Both pools.
However, like noted above as well, you can also be stuck far out on the property if you're not in a preferred.

Sports/Music/Movies are just a coin toss. Pick whichever theme you'd like best, they're identical.

Ummmm.... If you're staying at POP, you can't use the AOA pools. You can, however, walk over, eat a meal and take some awesome pictures!

If you go standard at Movies, request Mighty Ducks-you wil literally be 3 minutes from Music's main building making it easy to use their buses,Pools,Food Court etc. as well as Movies.:)

I LOVE all of the values (except AoA). Agree wither PPers to pick the theme that appeals the most. MY favorite is Music! It tends to be a bit quieter. At ANY value resort, you want a top floor room, NOT facing the pool.

We have stayed at Music the last five trips. here is something to consider. Music has 1604 rooms while Movies and Sports have 1920 rooms. POP has 2880 rooms and AoA has 1984. Less rooms, less crowds.
