Okay I just booked that incredibly sweet deal that Disney has from Aug 21-26th. 2 Adults and 2 children (for $1016.00 for 5 nights, 6 day passes and the Meal plan). I booked us in the All movies and requested and got the Buzz and Woody room for our 2 1/2 and 5 year old..but now I am having second thoughts. Is this the best resort..does anyone have any advice??? What is the best place to stay, best room etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

That is an AWESOME deal!! I would say the most popular value resorts that people talk about on here are All Star Movies and Pop Century. Some people prefer Pop b/c its newer and doesn't share busses like the All Star resorts do. But a lot of people love All Star Movies, too.

Maybe look at the resort pics on www.allearsnet.com and that would help you with your choice.

I'd be happy at any resort w/a great deal like that, though

We stayed at the All Star movies (Toy Story) & we really liked it. My kids thought the toy story theme was very cool. The food court was large & efficient. Rooms were very clean. I'd do the all star again if we could but now we are "5", so the most economical resort for us is POR.

Have a great time!

How do you know you'll be in the Toy Story section and not another part of the resort?

It may be a good idea not to mention the room location to your kids. Since room location is a request, it's possible you may be in another section of the resort.

My son and I are returning to Pop Century in October for out 3rd stay there. :cheer2:

I love PC because they have several pools, they don't share buses with other resorts, and they have an awsome foodcourt. ( just be sure to stay away from the pizza.) :sad2:

I've never stayed at ASMo, I really like the theming but don't like the idea of sharing busses among 3 resorts. But I have stayed at Pop and we loved it. The theming was upbeat and we loved the fact that we didn't have to share busses. The grounds are beautiful around the lake and I've heard some say you can see the fireworks from Epcot. We didn't know this at the time we were there. But I think either choice would be great. Afterall, you'll be at Disney w/ free dining. You can't go wrong.

I went to POP with very low expectations last month and it impressed me. We will be going again in Spet for the free dining and will be staying there again !!

Another vote here for Pop!! :cheer2: We stayed there last week for the first time and loved it!! We were on the 4th floor in the 50's section facing the pool (it was quiet) and we had to take just a short walk towards the back of the building to see the fireworks at Epcot and MK.

When I called to make our reservations, I asked if we could be booked into one of the Toy Story rooms, the CM said they were available and that we were booked into one. I want it to be a surprise.

I'm not trying to be a downer, but CRO can't guarantee any rooms unless you book the preferred section. ( I think that's the fantasia section at Movies) They will note your request on your reservation, then the room assigner at the resort will try to honor it.

I agree, your location is a request not a guarantee. I really hope you get it but I don't want you to be shocked if you don't. They do try to accomadate the requests. It's good that your kids don't know ahead of time, that way they won't be disappointed if it doesn't come through. Good luck!! :earsboy:

I saw this deal advertised in the travel section of the Chicago Tribune last Sunday. I immediately looked at DH and said...awesome rate, what's the catch...well, school of course! For anyone whe does not have school aged kids...go for it!

-just a quick interjection, as i am a drc cast member...
a rm loc. is a req. and not a guar. we cannot see avail. of specific rms or bldgs, only categories. your toy story is NOT guar. Never promise a kid an unsure thing.

That depends on where you live. Here the public schools open September 8th. A trip to WDW, with free dining, is a great way to end the summer.

Of course we can't go until the end of September, early October.

Lucky for us we have two days off the first week of October for a Jewish Holiday. So we get to take advantage of the free dining plan, value rates, MNSSHP, celebrate my son's 14th birthday, and only have my son miss two days of school. :cheer2: :cheer2:
