Best value place to purchase a snorkel set

Whilst I think it is better to buy than rent, I was wondering which store was the best option as far as price and quality. Also, the flippers are not essential if just the mask and snorkel is better somewhere.

We have a car and will be shopping anyway so location is not an issue.

It really depends on where you're planning on going snorkeling. I personally hate the flippers since I usually go to hanauma bay, and I feel like they just get in my way. At no point are you very far from shore. And if you're just planning on doing it on this trip, any old set will do you.

If you have a Costco membership, they should have them. We got ours years ago at a Hawaii Costco - good price and quality.
