what restaurants did you get the most for or money, or which restuarants would have had the highest bill if not on the dining plan? I want to get the most out of my money when using the dining plan this December!

your best bet would be to check out the individual restaurants' menus over at www.allearsnet.com

personally, i would go for what meals you'll enjoy the most, what locations you will be in to dine (i.e. if you're having fun at mgm why run to epcot 'cause you can get an extra shrimp w/your meal, kwim?) and plan that way... i think it's very rare cases where the plan does not save money...

enjoy!

Le Cellier could have the biggest bill(depending on order) if paying cash, but if you dont like that type of food is it really a good value?

The Concourse Steakhouse can also have a $50 per person bill depending on what you order.

If you're looking to win a competition you have to get lucky and find a waiter that will let you add something like a shrimp or lobster tail add on.

Previous poster is correct, you should look for restaurants that have the type of food you enjoy and that are in or near the park you're going to be visiting.

In general the two credit signature restaurants don't give you the best deal. Not sure how you'll do on a cost basis but Earl of Sandwich and WP Express in the DTD Marketplace are probably the two best CS restaurants on the plan.

Most of the WS restaurants give you good value. Does it make any sense to eat in the Italy restaurant if you don't like Italian food? Does it make sense to order steak in Le Cellier or the Concourse Steak House if you don't like steak?

The restaurants are starting to limit desserts and appetizers that are designed and priced to be shared. Some restaurants are requiring that 2 or 3 guests order the item. I wouldn't rely on guests experiences that aren't recent.

My mom and I enjoyed Konas Cafe at the Polynesian when we were there in Jan. 2005. We had the Dining Plan (paid for it). It was one of several restaurants we tried for the first time. It's now one of our favs. I don't remember what the bill would have been for 2 A and 1 K but with appetizers, entrees, and desserts I remember it as being fairly high. We will be returning to Kona's this Sept. (FREE Dining-Yeah!) Since last time we had too much food we plan on sharing a meal this time.

I have AR at California Grill, Konas, Princess Storybook Lunch, Chef Mickeys, and Le Cellier this time.

Just my opinion-others may vary.

51 days and counting! :jumping1:

I've never used the dining plan, but just offhand I'd have to agree on Kona. This is one of our favorite places and I look at what we usually order (three courses) and I know I'd definitely save money off the dining plan.

Just got back and in our experience Yacht Club galley was the best for us...the bill for 6 people 2 adults, one teen,2 kids one toddler was $198 dollars but came to 0 with the plan.We had the best waitress of our whole trip,Katherine, she told us the kids could all order appetizers from the adult menu so we got 5 appetizers!Entrees for all of us and desserts for all.The Concourse Steakhouse and Mama Melroses now have a kids appetizer menu with 2 choices my kids got the salad at those places. The food at those 2 places wasn't that great.
Another awesome meal/value was the Cape May Clam Bake dinner buffet.
You can't go wrong on the plan most of our dinners came to $170-$190 The plan is so worth it!!

Is the Slipper on the regular menu or do you have to call in advance to order it.
Thanks

Tom

I agree, the best value is eating a meal you will enjoy. Not being a big fan of lobster, it really doesn't make any difference to me if I get the most money out of the plan ordering it. And the time factor is important as well. Going half way across WDW for $10 more worth of food is not likely worth your time.

At the castle the slipper is their Happiest Celebration on Earth Dessert - you do not have to order it ahead of time here.

At the castle, it is on the regular menu, at the GF, you have to order it in advance
