Hello!

I have the dining plan for 5 days and have made the following reservations for our sit down meals

Arrival: dinner @ Chef Mickeys
Day 2: breakfast @ 1900 Park Fare with Mary Poppins
Day 3: Dinner @ Sci Fin Diner
Day 4: Dinner @ San Angel
Day 5: Dinner @ Tepan Edo (this could change)

Do you feel like we are getting a good value? What quick services give the best value?

If those are the places that you like to eat then yes, you are getting a good value. I'm sure you can choose more expensive places and choose more expensive dishes at those places but honestly, eat where you enjoy and you will be getting a good value.

The dining plan isn't for everyone. If you have young children (adults by Disney Standard) than the dining plan may not be worth it since you are paying adult prices and kids don't eat that much. If you are all adults who like dinner followed by dessert along with a CS and a snack, then you may save yourself some money

I don't find the dining plan to be a good value anymore. it used to be great but then Disney caught on to their own game and changed a lot. We don't use the dining plan because it doesn't work for us but that might be different for you.

As far as CS places here is what we like. Your idea of a good value may differ from mine :)

AK: FlameTree BBQ
DHS: ABC Commissary, Fairfax Fare
MK: Casey's Corner, Pecos Bills (great toppings bar), Cosmic Rays
EP: almost every CS in the WS

Hope this helps

IMO, eat where you want and don't worry about getting the best value.

For counter service, I second the Flame Tree Barbecue, and we also like the food court in the Soarin building and Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD.

Enjoy your meals!:goodvibes

You mention 5 days... remember that the Dining Plan is based on the number of nights that you stay. Since your day 5 is dinner, I'm going to guess that you're leaving the next morning and you'll be just fine. However, if you are leaving the night of Day 5, then be aware that you'll only have 4 sets of credits (again, only if you're checking out on day 5 and leaving sometime that night, rather than staying and leaving on day 6)

We leave on Day 6 early in the morning. We fly in on the day of arrival and will have most of the day for the parks.

Always eat where you want.

Character dinners and buffets give you the most value if you are strictly talking dollars and cents. 1900 Park Fare breakfast for an adult is as high as $26, but a dinner is as high as $43.

You have some great places to eat and I would not change them for higher priced options. Value is in different in each persons eyes. I consider the dining plan to be a great value to my family as I do not have to worry about what each person orders to stay on budget because it is already paid for. We eat at a lot of buffets because we have picky eaters and they have been known to order something they do not eat at a non buffet.

How do you define "Value"? For us, it is not the most expensive meal at the most expensive 1 TS restaurant. It is eating where we want, and enjoying it. Only you can decide that.
