I am planning on my vacation to Disneyworld and I have booked my first MYW with Dining Plan Package. Here is my question: Which CS in each park/resort do you think you can get the most value out of the CS credits? Can everyone vote for their "favorites" for each park/resort? :teacher:

Tusker House in Animal Kingdom! Great, fresh, healthy food! I had the salmon and my DDs had the rotisserie chicken. It was delicious and each heaping plateful was under eight dollars!

We just got back from Disney and we were on the Dinning Plan. My favorite was Columbia Harbor House. I just loved the tuna sandwich and the apple pie. DM's favorite was Tusker House. She had the salmon and said that it was excellent especially the broccoli. She swore that it was restaurant quality.

Resort: Pepper Market at Coronado Springs
Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbour House
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons or any World Showcase counter service
Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree BBQ
MGM: Backlot Express (I've heard)

I think they all give you a lot. My 12 year old Ds and I shared cheeseburgers at both Roaring Forks and Cosmic Rays. They're big burgers and come with fries and a dessert. One meal was plenty for the two of us to share when we weren't starving and we're not tiny people, we like to eat. We rarely even ate the dessert, most times we saved it and ate it when we got back to the resort at night.

I would agree about Tusker House. We had the rotisserie chicken, a kid's mac and cheese, and I had a turkey wrap with corn chowder. All were wonderful!

Fountainview Bakery at Epcot is a good place to get a cheap breakfast - I got a large cinnamon croissant and a cafe mocha for under $5.

I will be going against the majority opinion, but I did not like Casey's Corner hot dogs - I thought they were greasy, and I didn't care for them.

What about CSs in MGM? Seems like they don't have any CS that's outstand like all the other parks. Your thoughts?

Hello...I don't know about MGM cs (we are Sci-Fi fans). But for MK I like Pecos Bills the most and Cosmic Rays is a close second. Tusker House in AK is amazing. Honestly it's better than alot of TS restaurants IMO. We usually do TS in EPCOT so I can't comment on the cs there. I also liked the food court at POR. Have fun choosing!

I am trying to stick to the 1 CS/1 TS/1 Snack dining plan. Would you say we are better off visiting one of the nearby resorts for CS lunch on the day we are planing to go to MGM?

twice i used tangerine cafe in epcot for counter service.

large portions and a great value on the myw dining plan

abc commissary is the counter service we like.
the breakfast special, from opening to 10 is great.
the lunch menu has about 5 good choices.
wraps/fish/burgers/cuban sandwiches........

I haven't tried it yet so I can't give a first hand review but I've heard ABC Commissary at MGM is good. I've also heard Toy Story Pizza Planet isn't very good. But I personally haven't eaten at either place so I'm hesitant to give a thumbs up or down for either one. But having said that after checking out the menus on allears I like the offerings at ABC.

We used our counter service credits at the food courts at the value resorts. One night we stopped at the A/S Movies and got turkey, mashed potatoes, veggies, roll, then picked up a bottle drink and everyone got cheesecake or banana splits from the desert counter. This is probably the best use of CS you can get considering it's not a fried option and the closet you can get to a good sit-down home-style meal. The nice part was that when everyone paid, the CS stamped the receipt for the deserts (the ice cream folks), so when they were done eating, then they went back up and got their ice cream. The CMs seems to know how to use the dining credits very well at the food courts of the value resorts, because they guided us on what to do.

i mentioned abc commissary because i have eaten there many many times.
you can also get a half sandwich and side there.

the backlot changed their menu this fall but i haven't tried it when i was there in sept/oct.

the only problem with mgm is the lack of great cs places.

in sept, i would take the boat to epcot for lunch and kill an hour and a half there then return to mgm.

mgm is my favorite park.

I had two great lunches at tusker house, both very fresh and tasty! I had a chicken wrap with corn chowder and cheese cake, and 1/2 rotis chicken with cheese cake.

Epcot in the land, seasons food court had a great black forest ham sandwich and chicken bean soup. And they had lots of dessert selections.

Seems like there are many grest CS locations in MK,AK and Epcot. now what about some of the resorts' CS? I really intersted in checking them out also (for lunch maybe). or is it a waste of time?

The best bang for your buck on a CS voucher would be at the Pepper Market at CSR.... the Steak (yes, real steak) meal is normally around 20 bucks..

OK CSR sounds great, and since it take just one CS credit I can have dinner there one night and save the TS credit for maybe a dinner show. Now questions:
1. Which day should I go to CSR for dinner? the MK day/MGM day/EPCOT/AK day?
2. Which dinner show would you guys recommand for 2 adults? (one is vegie & seafood only eater)

Pepper Market sounds like a bargain as a CS credit. Any place else like them?
