Friday, June 8 Animal Kingdom

We arrived about 20 minutes before the park opened. The plan was for my husband to make a run for our Fast Passes to Everest while we went to Dinosaur. We rode Dinosaur 6 times in a row with no waiting. Each time we rode we did different poses for the picture that is taken when the big Dino jumps out at you. On one we did the normal scream with hands in the air. The next one we all put our heads back like we were asleep. My favorite one was we all looked the opposite way and pointed. It obviously does not take much to entertain us. Around 10:00 it was time to use our Fast Pass for Everest but the ride was down so we headed for Kahli River Rapids. Even early in the morning this ride is nice because AK is such a hot park to me. I feel like Im sitting at the Dry Cleaners all day. We did not get as wet as some people I saw. Checked on Everest but it was still down. We headed for Tusker House for lunch. This place serves a ton of food to be a Counter Service. It was very good. While we were on that side of the park we decided to do the Safari. Out of all the rides we rode on, this was the longest line. We waited for almost an hour. It seemed like it was never ending. It was worth the wait. We saw more animals than we have ever seen before. We got great pictures of upclose animals. Now it was around 1:30 and still no Everest but the CM told us that it wouldnt be long. She suggested we do A Bugs Life and come back. I love to do A Bugs Life with people who have never done it before. My mom screamed louder than anyone in the theater. Finally, yeah, Everest was up and running. My family was a little disapointed in Everest. I think they wanted it to last longer. My son said it was too short. It must not have been too bad they rode it again. By this time, again, storm clouds were on their way. It was close to our 4:30 ADR at Rainforest Cafe. My husband had to eat here because he had to have a Valcano for dessert. The food here is actually better than some of the Disney resturants. The only complaint I have is the noise. We could not carry on a conversation it was so loud. Between the elephants and the monkeys it was giving me a headache. Maybe it was just where we were sitting. I dont remember it being that loud before. After dinner we made our way back to POR. It never did storm. We decided to take a swim. I was sitting in my chair watching some people in front of me pointing to the sky and taking pictures. Then I remembered it was time for the Shuttle to take off. I looked up just in time to see it. It only lasted a few seconds but it was very cool.

Saturday, June 9 Magic Kingdom

We arrived at the park pretty early which was great. We were able to take some pictures of the entrance without the crowds. We took our time down Main Street and into Adventure Land. My daughter got to see her beloved Jack in POTC. We actually made our way through most of the rides very quickly. We rode Big Thunder Mountain and were making our way to the exit when the Dream Makers apperared out of no where and yelled Congratulations! We won an Extra Magic Hour. I wasnt sure what that ment we were just glad to win something. They told us to go to Tomorrow Land at 11:00 pm and wait for instuctions. We finished doing most of everthing we had planned for the day. It was time for dinner at Cinderella Castle. We had planned a suprise birthday for my daughter who just turned 16. My inlaws were still wearing their buttons and were seated right at front overlooking Mainstreet. Fairy Godmother came in a reconized them and gave them a special wish. My daughter was given a cake and danced with one of the mice. We took great pictures.
Around 7:00pm I like to get our seats for Wishes. We always sit in Tomorrow Land Terrace in front of the Noodle Station which was open. I have never seen this place open. I was strange. The smell was not good. We got our seats and took turns shopping. My husband and nephew decided to get everyone a Pineapple Dolewhip. They were trying to carry 8 of them when my husband dropped one. A CM stopped and asked where we were sitting and said she would bring us another one. Yeah right. I could not believe she took the time to go get it and then to come find us. I was very impressed.
Wishes was great as always. I cried like I always do. My inlaws and parents were give out so went back to POR while we went to Tomorrow Land to find out what the deal was with our Extra Magic Hour. They started the thing off with a big street party that was great. Great music and dancing. My son can do an awesome sprinkler. Then they told us what rides would be open and that there were only 1000 people in the park opposed to 60,000 and that we could stay until 2:00am and turned us lose. Mind you, we had gotten up that morning at 6:00 and it was now 11:30pm and I was already pooped but hey, we had won! It was so weird to see Fantasy Land empty. We rode Peter Pan 5 times in a row. I cant even remember how many times we rode Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain. It was great! I just wish they would give you a golf cart to ride in to get from place to place.
