I want to share some highlights of one of the best vacations our family has ever had. I was worried about everyone having a good time with such a large group of people (16) but only Disney could pull it off. My inlways who are in their 70s all the way down to my 18 month old neice. No one wanted to leave yesterday. It was not just doing the theme parks but having fun with your family. We talked on the way home about how blessed we are to have such a great family. Not many families can stay together 18 hours a day for 8 days in a row and still be smiling and laughing on the way home. Okay, enough mush, let me tell you the good stuff!

Port Orleans Riverside
This was a perfect resort for us. We stayed in Magnolia Bend on the lower level about half way in the middle. Just what I had requested. A 5 minute walk to main building and to the eastside bus stop. The rooms were very clean and well kept. We never heard a peep out of anyone. This is the most quiet resort we have ever stayed at. About half of us met for breakfast every morning @ 7:00. The food court has a great breakfast. We met up with everyone else at the bus stop at 7:45. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus to any park. My children, 12 and 16 did not like the pool for some reason. We only swam for an hour one night so dont take their word for it. I'm sure it's a nice pool. On our first night we planned to take the boat to DTD but ended up having to take the bus due to a bad storm. Thats a whole other story......
Over all we loved POR. I took about 100 pictures of just the resort. I cant wait the download them.

Day 1 - Wednesday, June 6
We arrived at POR at 2:30 pm. Check in was a breeze. We were in our rooms in 15 minutes. We unpacked and rested a few minutes before our trip to DTD.
We walked to the boat launch but were told we would have to take the bus because of the bad weather moving in. We were a little disapointed but not a big deal. We got on our bus and away we went. Got to Captain Jack's just in time for our 5:00 ADR. It had just started sprinkling when we were setted at our table. Things went down hill from there. First thing I did was spill a full glass of Coke all over my mother in law. We had a great waiter that cleaned up the table and my mother in law the best he could. 5 minutes later my 3 year old neice drops my brand new camara on the floor. Not to worry it still works. But in my mind I'm thinking, this is not a good way to start a Magical Vacation. We took our time eating dinner because the weather was not looking good. Of course the 15 ponchos that I have bought over the years were sitting at home because Florida is in the middle of a drought. We have no ponchos and no umbrellas. We decided to make a run for World of Disney. At least we could shop until the weather let up. We shopped for about 2 hours and the weather never let up it just got worse. I have never seen rain and lighting like this before. There was nothing else to do but head for the bus stop. Of course, by then that was the plan for the other 5000 people that were there. No room under the shelter. We stood in the pouring rain and constant lighting for 45 minutes for our bus. On the ride back, I was sitting across from my 75 year old mother in law thinking if she dosent get sick from this it will be a miracle. Thank the Lord she is fine and that was the end of our bad luck. Things got much better from there.

Day 2: Thursday, June 7 EPCOT
Had no problem getting a bus for EPCOT. We got there pretty early so we were close to the front of the line. We had our plan all worked out on who was going for FastPasses for Soarin while the rest of us headed for
Test Track. My favorite ride in EPCOT is Test Track. Even my inlaws rode it and wanted to do it again. Around 11:00 we had rode everything in Future World and headed for the Nations. We ate lunch at La Cantina. I love the Nachos. We were all on the Dining Plan which gives you way too much food but is well worth the money. We followed around all the countries till we ended up in Canada. Our ADR for LeCellier was at 4:20. We walked in and were setted right away. We celebrated my Inlaws 55th wedding anniversary. They loved all the attention. The cast members all signed a card for them. It was very special for them. They liked all the attention so much that they wore their Anniversay buttons for the rest of the week. They were reconized every where we went. After dinner we took our time back through the countries taking pictures of things we had missed the first time. We sat down at one of the Friendship Docks about 7:30 to wait for Illuminations. Off in the distance you could see and hear another storm coming. I could tell by the look on everyones face, no one wanted a repeat of the night before. We decided to head back to POR for the night. We would see Illuminations on Tuesday and hope that it would not rain. We arrived back at our rooms just in time. The 6 teenagers that were with us went to the arcade and stayed till midnight. I dont get it but then again Im not a teenager.

Anniversay celebration at Le Cellier. This is my family's favorite place to eat. I was disapointed that they no longer have the Surf and Turf.
