Best use of flex features?

We are going on the Resort magic plan and we all get one free choice and I'm trying to determine what the best value is. I have no idea what some of the choices normally cost. I was thinking the meals but I'm not sure. Also when do you have to let them know how you are using your flex?

My wife and I used our flex feature for breakfast at spoodles at the BWI on our last day. I kind of felt it was like a waste - would have rather used it for mini-golf or the speed boats - but we just couldnt fit them into our schedule. Try to do something fun with the feature, something that may create a memory for years to come....you can always buy any one of the items they offer any time! Just a suggestion

Jenbren,

I read a post here a week or so ago regarding the same question. You could probably do a search on "Resort Magic" or "flex feature" and find it. The two biggest suggestions were the Mickey & Me photo shoot. You use one flex feature for the whole family. I believe the poster said this was a $30 value. The same person also suggested the backpack from DisneyQuest which has a $25 value. I've heard the backpack is something really nice for the kids.

HI! We used the Resort Magic plan the last time we went to WDW in 2000. We also plan to use it in 2001. The character breakfasts are a good deal and the Behind the Scenes tours are alsoa good deal.

Since we always do character breakfasts, we decided to take a gift. My DS got a cute clock with Mickey and friends surrounding it and my DD and I each got a Disney photo album/memory book. It's very nice, with a place for those odds and ends you collect - ticket stubs, unused fast passes, etc.
BUT - it was a pain lugging them home!

Do you get a chance to see what some of the things look like before you pick? I was thinking about letting the kids see what they could choose from but my indecisive DD will want to see all her options first (so she can make me crazy debating them!)

Yes, you get a pamphlet with a picture of the item or activity offered. I forgot about the Mickey photo shoot...that looked real nice!

We were staying at CSR, and at Panchitos gift shop, they have all the flex features there for you to see.

Where do you get the pamphlet from? Do you get it with the final paperwork? I would really like to do the "things" instead of the character breakfast. Just something for the kids to remember their trip with and they won't have to part with their hard earned Disney Dollars. Plus, looking at the pamphlet should keep them busy for... oh, about 20 seconds on the plane ride!
