Myself and a few others nicked a number of road signs and set up our own one way system that just went in circles.

Beat that, motorists.

1961 Rose Bowl game between Washington and Minnesota. However, the prank wasn't from either side. It was from some pranksters from the California Institute of Technology, who managed to gain the confidence of the head of the UW cheerleading squad - masquerading as a local high school newspaper reporter. He asked how they managed to do a planned "card stunt" and found out where they were keeping the instructions. They broke into the dorm room where they kept the instructions and altered them in various ways. It was first rather subtle, then they started putting in some things that made everyone take notice.

One display was supposed to be a dog (UW's mascot) but changed to a beaver. Then it was "HUSKIES" changed to "SEIKSUH". The last one spelled out "CALTECH". Apparently the cheerleaders decided to end it before the final design, which was an image of an American flag that was left unchanged.

I went to an engineering university, and a bunch of students disassembled then reassembled a car, inside a building. Not sure what happened.

One dorm had a large common shower area. Toilet stall doors were removed and used to block off the doorway into the shower area to a height of 3-4 feet. The shower drains were plugged up, and the showers turned on, creating a large indoor pool.

The next year another dorm had a large pile of sand around the side of it. Shower curtains from several floors were taken down and used to line the lounge floor on one floor. The sand was transported in using a large rolling metal mop bucket, and dumped on the curtains to a depth of 2-3 inches, creating an indoor sandy beach for a beach party.
