Looking to get a better umbrella type stroller for DS who is almost 2.

We have a cheapo Mickey umbrealla stoller but it pushes terrible. We're looking to buy something better. We also have a City Mini GT which we love but it's just too bulky for those trips to the malls or department type stores that don't have carts.

We're also thinking about taking it to Disney for the airport & around the hotel and then just renting a stroller for the parks.

Does anyone have a favorite?

I want to know any not to buy as well.

Thanks for all of your help!

I loved my Cybex onyx. It was a bit heavy though, their Ruby model might be better for what you are describing. Maclarens are good. And people seem to like the uppa baby g-luxe and g-lite strollers.

If you are tall or short, that's a crucial factor. The Cybex strollers are particularly good for tall people.

There's a stroller forum at the baby bargains board. Also you can look for the strollerqueen's reviews. I usually google strollerqueen plus the name of the stroller I am considering. And baby gizmo has videotaped reviews.

I have a First Years Ignite. It was about $60 and I use it for everything - daily shopping trips, the zoo, and so far two Disney trips. Its pretty basic and the basket underneath is small, but I love it and haven't had any issues.

Another vote for the Ignite. We loved it and thought it was perfect for WDW trips (DS is now 7, so we gave the stroller away on the last day of our trip last year).

We have a Maclaren Triumph. Its 8 years old now and a veteran of 15+ Disney trips (all by plane, gate checked) and countless other amusement park, mall, etc trips. The thing is a tank! Pushes/turns like a dreams, folds/opens super easy, is very small and very light weight. My kids are tall and thin but muscular so they can get heavy to push and we've had no issues. Finally, the handles are taller and since I am 5'9" I don't have to hunch over to push them. Best stroller ever!

Thanks to everyone who has posted so far! I've added all of your suggestions to my list of ones to check out.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the First Years Ignite & the First Years Jet? The specs are slightly different but other than that, I'm not finding any differences & I know there must be because of the price difference.

We loved our Maclaren Volo. It is so sturdy and light at the same time. It has a built in strap to carry it over your shoulder when not pushing it. The capacity for a Maclaren lightweight stroller is 55 lbs, so that is a pretty big kid. When we were done using it, I had no trouble selling it. So, that made the overall price pretty low.

We bought two Jeep umbrollers last year for my twin boys (age 15 months during that visit). I think they were just under $50.

The shade is a bit small, and the cup holder falls off, but the back rolls up into a small pillow, and there's a mesh back seat when you do that for air circulation for their backs. They're super light.

We're bringing them back this year, as the boys still love to ride in them (26 months).

Our last stroller was a Maclaren Volo. It worked well for us - we don't carry a ton of stuff with us, so the smaller basket was fine, it unfolded in a snap and was light to carry. Only downside is that it doesn't recline; if that's important, the Maclaren Triumph is a good bet.

Way back when our oldest was in a stroller, we had a Combi and loved it, too. Super easy to push and fold, and that one did recline.

We have wayyy to many strollers (5... yes 5) and I think it would be nice to have the option of reclining in the parks. The Maclaren Triumph gets my vote. The City Mini isn't a bad option either.

We'll be taking our City Mini because we already have all the stuff for it for the parks. It's pretty resilient too. It is bulkier than the Maclaren, though.

I have a britax blink. It is now discontinued (I think it was discontinued when I bought it!). So, while it know you won't find that one new, I'll tell you a few things I like about it, and things I wish were better.

I love that it has a structured bottom and back (it isn't just a hammock with no support. It also had padding.

I also love that it had a recline. At 2.5, we still needed that at Disney.

The wheels could have been better, but they are a huge improvement over the $20 cheapies.

The sunshade could have had better coverage, but still better than a lot of others. I was spoiled with my joovy jogger with it's huge canopy.

It's the stroller we'll take this next time as well.

I have the jeep sport stroller it's 50.00 and folds up with 1 hand super light and stands up when it's closed without falling over. Last year we rented a city mini and it was so heavy compared to my light weight jeep stroller. I really missed having my stroller last year and DH complained about the rental. Walmart carries this stroller in various colors. The stroller is padded has a multi. Recline option cup holder for the person pushing and for the child along with tray on. Top and bottom and under seat storage basket. We've had it for 3 years and been happy with it.

I also have a Britax blink, took it last year to WDW with my then 2.5 and did great
It was replaced with the britax b nimble which is very similar but slightly better
Albee baby has the b nimble on sale 60% FYI
I got my blink from them

I dont know what the difference is but we own a jet and the wheels got messed up within months of owning it. We dealt cuz DD was under 3o pounds and we would rent at Disney. Now tho the company we rented from is changing things so we aren't renting from them and now thst she is over 30 pounds tje jet is a pain to push. We will be buying a new stroller for disney, zoo, & other amusement parks.

Also I am short so if I push the jet for long periods my arms ache.

We just purchased a summer 3d lite. It was only $50 after discount coupons and sale (originally 75.00). It has a full recline and is only a tiny bit heavier than volo. We needed to replace our volo after 5 disney trips and wanted something with a recline. This stroller is significantly lighter than the triumph! Biggest drawback is the sun shade is not huge. But we have made adjustments for that.

The Jet is lighter, the back of the seat is shorter, the front wheels don't lock for terrain, the shade is smaller but does rotate, and the wheels have less tread. It's also been described as flimsier.

The Ignite is sturdier, has more back support, a wider seat, and the back is taller. However the shade does not rotate and it's heavier, 14lbs.

I just bought two single Maclaren Volos and we love them! We're going from a twin Maclaren techno and twin BOB revolution, the Volos are great, even on uneven and rocky surfaces.

I have a Maclaren Quest Sport and it's awesome. It has a recline and a basket which the Volo didn't have, and a little better sunshade. I bought a detachable parent console and it's good to go. Also, it seemed to have a much taller back than the ignite or comparable cheaper strollers, so I can use it longer. What good is a high weight limit if the kid is too tall?

Thanks to everyone for all of your replies! I really appreciate all of the feedback. I'm going to checkout all of your suggestions this weekend.
