well, first i would like to thank everyone for the best trip ever. the info we gained from the dis was a big key to the whole experience. the planning and anticipation was almost as fun as the trip. before i give a report, thanks, you helped us find the magic. its long but you know its good.

cast members

me - the 16 year hardened veteran cop.
tracy - my deserves the best trip ever wife
ben - my 12 year old son who thought he was too old for mickey

john - my overstressed computer admin brother
amy - his sweet wife our sil
ian - my 6 year old nephew (first trip to see mickey)

here goes. this year, my oldest son joined the military and left in july. that whole year he was (in my 12 year olds view) the center of attention. we had spent last november at universal and decided it had been too long since our return to disney. so we told ben it was his time in the sun now.

i have a large group of siblings and we take several trips each year with them so i decided the nieces and nephews were old enough to get the most from a trip to see mick. i sprang the idea on tracy who was extremely excited but due to our recent week at the family reunion, skeptical as to the financial resources. i however was undaunted. I NEEDED SOME MAGIC. OK yes i wanted to be a kid again, there i admit it. i told ben and he just kind of ok i guess. typical preteen almost manboy.

i began my research. diligently poring over every website outside hotel deals, timeshare deals. no way dude I NEED THE WORLD, I'M STAYING WITH MICKEY THE WHOLE TIME. but how? then my research led to the dis. i read months of forums, my wife has a friend who is a disney freak and she joined in. so i (being a florida resident ) and not fond of crowds proudly found the fall rates and special ticket deals much to my liking.

i made my own package with plans to do it all. 4 days of park hopping, 1 day water park, 2 days disney quest and all the food we can stand. i came up with the deal and called my brothers and sister. my middle brother was recovering from an illness, my sister bought a new house, my mom and dad had another family thing. i even offered to help pay some of the expenses.( you see i saved a lot of over time just to give mick.) i mean this was july, my plan was to go in september, work with me people. i want to see the kids feel what i felt the first time i saw that castle.

good ol john. i called him and he said heck yeah, i can do it. Ian will be in wally world in sept. but we couldnt tell him until we left.
after tickets and reservations for 6 nights at asmo, the only thing that kept us going were the trip reports.

FINALLY SEPT 7 beautiful drive, great weather, WERE HERE 10 am. told Ian where we were headed. went nuts in his own quiet way. we talked using the walkies car to car the whole time about the world and how much further.

you know, i did read some tripreps that were a bit negative. i must say the worst things we experienced were WONDERFUL.
all stars is a wonderful place with great staff. checked right in and after unpacking immediately got the drink mug.... oh yeah baby, luvin it.
since were here late and we want full park days we had planned dd and dq day one. great way to start a d trip. bus was only 5 min. longest wait 15 min the whole trip sat every time, except when we gentlemen gave our seats to the ladies.
dd was great, shopped til ben went crazy to get to dq. we stopped by planet for ps at 6 pm. the hostess just laughed at us and said"in september?" we obvously didnt need ps.
best arcade ever. carribean pirates are we. we played that thing 5 times at least. best of the lot. we did it all several times except the sm coaster( well me any way.) we ate at dq and it was good.
after dq we ate at the planet h. great place great food. lightning fast service. afterwards we walked around and later decided to ride the mono to get the feel for disney. it was great. the girls and kids rode up front. we went back to asmo and swam before hitting the sack.perfect first day.

day 2

woke up early and headed for the mug o coffee,... oh yeah. we have never seen any opening shows, we were pumped. ian was ready in a heart beat. ben was ready too and hurrying us. of course i messed with him about liking disney and being a preteen man boy. we left a $5 for the housekeeper cms each day, they were great. off we went to catch the bus.
now you must understand, i had every part of this trip planned in order to avoid major crowds and to maximize the time at every location. but i must say, everyone else obviously had the same plan as me because, as my bro and i joked, each day we were going to a park, there was noone going to the otherparks and 50 buses were arriving to go everywhere else.
there were 50 people going to the kingdom and 3 going to the other parks. we arrived in short order thoughand got our passes. the opening show really began a great day.
ian and ben had planned the day to begin with all the "scary rides" and we did in the following order. mansion, splash m, space m , buzz, alien , then the rest. in the morning during our whole visit we had no waits, we owned the parks. we did everything twice. it was official, we were all kids again. i truly enjoyed watching ben and ian meet characters. everybody grinned, clapped and waved and sang during the parade. first time we saw the parade too. we all noticed the details. we watched the parade in frontier land. the cm's putting in the posts were frontier people, when they got to liberty square, liberty cm's took over. the posts even changed from wooden posts to fancy posts it was cool. oh yeah, we had mickey ice cream and played shooting gallery while we waited.

after a full day we went to epcot..9 dragons. wow. tracy and i split the peking duck meal.. john had the s&s pork amy had a curry dish. we ate for and hour and relaxed. when it came time to pay, john and i used our room keys. after 20 min, the waiter still hadnt returned. some computer problem. we sent the girls to find a spot for illum. we made fun of people till he finally figured it out. see no need to get upset, your in the WORLD man, relax.

we went outside at the right moment. we found the girls and kids just as the show was starting. i watched the most excellent show ever. after it was over, ben began picking on me about my being over enthusiastic. i was moved. my favorite.
back to the bus. on the way while at the restroom at epcot, i saw this lady really having a bad day. she told her man and kids she was so sick of disney. i kind of felt bad for her kids. oh well. i just smiled. its my WORLD now.
back to the room, mug o root beer...... oh yeah. bed

day 3

mgm, my favorite park. after my wondermug o coffee(decaf), we headed. of course, 72 buses to epcot for 3 people, 1 bus for 93 to mgm. laughs for my bro and me. of course our boys were gentlemen, they gave up their seats (under threat) to the ladies.

what can i say, good morning tot. the daredevil duo had the route mapped the night before. we were all pumped except amy. she was scared.. oh yeah. any weakness is exploited. we had a blast. amy had to ride it again just to see the special effects cause her eyes were closed the entire first time. we had to pry ian from the bench he figured if we were already there we should just ride again. loved it. the photo showed everyone else screaming during the drop, ian was smiling pointing at a lady who was screaming.

indy and millionaire were great, movie ride... well. i had left the safe key in the room and i was panicking. i had some police stuff and my cash in there. tracy said she would go back with me and we would meet to eat via walkie/cell px. we rushed back and everything was ok. we were back to mgm in 30 min and calling john on the walkie. they were in the movie ride line. we went to sci-fi and got a table and i went outside and waited, calling john over the walkie. after talking to eveyone else but john, he finally answered and they showed up. john said well thats twenty minutes of my life gone, sad. we laughed and went in to the greatest lunch of the trip. what a blast. we stayed there enjoying the clips and the cool air. great place. we continued our day with a few favorites, muppets, back lot etc. tracy, ben and i loved the movie ride.

it was almost time for the highlight of the day. TURKEY LEG and FANTASIA ..oh yeah.. loved it. the wave, the leg, the show. man what a day. floated back to the room for a beer and a swim.and.. oh yeah.. a mug o cola.

day
chef mickey and bb

we had ps for chef mickey at 945. this was our relax day and character breakfast. we hooked up with the mono at mk and into the contemp. great place. took the pictures and had a seat. our group of 6 kids played and ate for almost 1 1/2 hours. more than we hoped for. lots of photos and characters. loved it.
the bus to blizzard then.. oh yeah.. the bottomless drinking chalace. now i must say i have had many adventures in life. baby you can be sure that summit plummit cost me 7 years and 50 gray hairs. you know most sliders can be heard on the way down. for example normal slide, AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, summit plummit yeah right. there was a short line for a reason. we got to the top. the guy sits down. big sign says cross legs and a skull and cross bones. the guy sits, then over the edge, all we hear is AHH then nothing else. he's gone man. im scared you know what and here is ben the manboy punk laughing at dad. he goes first..ahh.. my son is dead i know it. my turn. cross the legs, gulp, ha ha yeah man this is great. AHHHHAAHHHHHAAHHHHHAAHHHHAAAHHH pain death, fear, water is hard at 60 mph, the end. stand up let ben laugh at me for sounding like a 10 year old school girl.
the park was great. a nap at the pavillion, hotdogs, the lazy creek, slides, sun, relaxing. on the way out ben and i filled the bottomless chalace three times before we hit the gate. 5 min bus ride were home. we had originally planned to do dd after a small nap. john , amy, and ian passed out. ben and i swam while tracy did some laundry and sat with us at the pool. after the nap, the rest joined us. we decided to eat and drink food court. john and i spied the coveted yard o beer, but passed on it. instead we had pasta, nachos mugs o root beer and one regular beer...oh yeah.

day animal kingdom(losing count)

ians most awaited park. ian is a bug, lizard, spider frog and anything creepy lover. he and ben had the map out planning the day, while tracy and i filled the mugs of delite. to the buses. did you ever notice that great smell and blast of cold air as you walked through the lobby to the buses. any way, of course 3 people going to epcot, 50 buses etc. a short ride and were here. this time we get to walk past every one else because animal kingdom has a resort line. great day already. went straight to kil saf got right on. beautiful, from there went to the tree and to bug. poor little girl behind me screamed her head off when the spiders came down. ian was in heaven, he got sprayed with bug juice. great show. dino ride, primeval jungle trek then rainforest cafe. had the appetizer platter and split a choclate thing with tracy. john orders the volcanooooo!!! laughed our heads off when they brought this massive thing out. the waiter admitted it would probably feed 12 people.
afterwards, we finished off the other adventures. tracy and i sat out the rapids. died laughing when john and ben comeback soaked to the bone. we went to the flights of wonder and made fun of the host but liked the show. now my least favorite was tarzan, people were leaving as potsie webber sang a few songs. it got a little better as it went on, still wonderful of course. we waited across from fow at a pavillion beside the river. we had a great view of the tree and spent 30 min picking out animals, good relax period. parade was great, time to go. this park can get crowded and is hot hot, but of course wonderful. again we scooted hame and hit the pool and filled the turbo mugs...oh yeah. we again stayed in for supper.

day epcot and final magic kingdom

this morning, need real coffee, bones hurt, muscles ache, must fill magic mug. today we are going to park till we drop. to the buses.... what???!! .....1 bus, 93 people going to epcot??? of course. ...we still got there in 15 or less. ian was stumped he had no plan, epcot is alien to him. when are we going to mk? yeah, until we do test track and ms. we get a fast pass for test track(first time using it) then head for mission space. now i have talked and read about this ride and have been contemplating every aspect of it. we walk up and i see the egg beater spinny thing, no way man,see you outside. tracy and i hold our ground as john , ian, ben and poor poor amy head off into the beast. they emmerge shortly with ben and ian begging for more. john is pail but still standing, amy politley takes leave and proceeds calmly to the imaginationarea restroom just in time for her stomach to lose gravity if you know what i mean. poor girl was sick all day long. she did stick in there though.

fast pass to test track. loved it. ian was again using the logic of if were here already lets just ride again. off to the oldies, honey i shrunk the audience was great, figment was fun, the skunk thing was a gas, did the email station as a family of monkeys. ben and i did station cool. tricked him with the beverly, then did it to myself wow nasty. the others were good though. lunch. amy wanted to do morrocco then to italy for dessert. the belly dancer grabbed me and i shook it a little with her. the food was good. the girls and kids went to italy while john and i went to germany of course. we people watched a while and waited forever while the girls indulged in tiramisu and other sinfuls.
rode malstrom on the way out but missed mexico. ian and ben wanted mk.

we monorailed over to mk. i had previously read a post that called it smellorail. it does have its own distinct odor. anyway. we dove into the mk body pool. man it was full. we went straight to buzz. longest wait ever. tracy and amy got fp for sp m while we endured the longest line of the trip. we were spoiled, longest prior wait was 20 max. we waited 45. oh well we did our usual make fun of people and had a good time. those fast pass snobs just pranced past us lower life forms while we suffered the onslaught of hot breath, coughs and snotty nosed kids touching the rails. we would have our revenge. we finally rode then sprinted to spm where our ladies had our passes in hand. yes it was good, not bittersweet at all, as we smugly sauntered past the wretched masses enroute to our final ride of the day. we savored it so. fast pass is a good thing.
back to frontierland and a hot pretzel and water as we waited for the parade. spectromagic is the best parade ever. we all lost ourselves for those moments. i watched ben and ian smiling and waving, knowing that is why we came. it was great. we watched the fireworks from the water across from frontierland. we noticed for the first time the castle was changing colors. beautiful... we took in everything in silence . afterwards we floated with the crowds with john and i mooing occasionally like disney cattle. it was wonderful.
then came the dilema. we had consumed many bottles of water while enjoying the parade. those bottles hit right around main st. we picked up the pace and hauled it to the bus area only to find the longest line in the universe all to the all stars movie resort!!!!!!!! no way can i make it. quick thinking, off to contemp on foot hurry, faster, im running,....ahh just in time. now thats done, we decide no way were getting a bus for an hour. tracy and amy tell me they discussed a taxi price with a van outside....oh yeah baby... best move of the day, fast pass home, wave at the wretched masses kids. back in a flash, beer, nachos, bed.

going home.

john and amy were leaving this morning. after packing and hugging necks, amy and john thanked me for planning the best trip ever. it was good. they took ian and left.
not us, we hopped the bus to dd for one last dq day and another final rainforest. magic overload only 2 hrs. in dq. still wonderful. we ate another great meal and then sat back and looked around. we observed the people and pointed out who had been here and who was just getting here. us veterans had the 1000 yard mickey stare, that look of complete satisfied exhaustion. we got up finished shopping and rode the bus for our final time. as i went to get the car, sadly. tracy and ben filled up the magic mugs o root beer for the last time....oh..yeah....

i know ive said it before, perfect.....
