Best transportation from LAX

its been a couple years since we've been to DL. We are a family of 4 who will be flying into LAX and staying Disney's Grand Californian. Wondering which private shuttle/car service to go with? (renting a car is not an option as both myself and DH hate driving out there). Also not interested in bus, etc. with multiple stops. TIA for input and suggestions!

We've used Uber last 2 years and it worked out great for us.

We also used Lansky and they were great too.

The traffic around Los Angeles makes me extremely nervous. We have tried several companies to get from LAX to our hotel. The last time we went to DLR we decided to try the Disney Express and really enjoyed it. The bus went from the airport directly to the three Disney hotels before going on to other hotels, so there were not a lot of stops. The cost was very reasonable.

Karmel Shuttle is one service that my wife and I tried when we visited DL from the UK last year, we'll be using them again for sure Price was very reasonable and comparable to the Disneyland Express bus. I believe they also do grocery stops.

I'm using Lansky rather than Uber/Lyft because I want someone to meet me at baggage check and help carry my luggage to the car (traveling solo with kids). I also want the grocery stop they include.

No car seats for us.. my babies are 20 and 15.. lol! I just wonder if we'd all fit in the car along with all the luggage?!

I totally understand your dismay of driving around LAX (or SoCal for that matter) but also consider the freedom you'll have with a rental car.

Depending on what time you arrive, traffic isn't that bad leaving LAX arrivals area. Once on the road, Really anything after 3pm is going to be bumper to bumper traffic. Departures are a totally different story though and theres usually really slow traffic entering LAX from 7am to 10am.

Now I just did a price check with Lyft (regular vehicle) and the price quote (for a Wed night) is ranging from $95-110 from LAX Depatures Bradley Terminal garage to Disneyland. There might be some cheaper shuttles out there but you might have to do some research on that.

The price from LAX is comparable to what is listed above as a Lyft quote, but he will meet you inside the terminal and help you with baggage as well as load and unload your bags and stop at the grocery store. There will be no problem fitting all your bags. He usually picks us up/drops us off in a Suburban.

Do they still have Super Shuttle? I have used them before from LAX and that worked out great.

We've used Lansky and Uber XL. We had 7 people with luggage when we used Lansky and we had 3 people with luggage when we used Uber XL. Lansky was $200 round trip when we used them 2 years ago and Uber XL was around $75 each way when we used them earlier this year.

I was going by the one-way Lyft rate quoted above by Sergio, which was $95-110. I looked up an UberXL quote and got $70-$92. Lansky charges $110 one-way. I haven't used Uber out of LAX, but I'm not sure if you could find one (to comfortably transport a family with luggage anyway) for $100 roundtrip.

Lansky is worth the extra cost to us, especially since we still use carseats (which are provided free of charge). The service is also top-notch.

we have used Lansky over 10+ times in the past 3 years and they are worth every penny esp b/c they will work in a grocery store stop and that is really important to us to get some basic drinks and snack to save $$$$ while at DL!!!
i've never used uber or lyft so I don't know what their cost would be......

Another vote for Lansky's. It is really nice to walk into the baggage claim area, see your driver waiting for you, who will then help haul your luggage to the vehicle, and then they take to you the grocery store.

In September I'm using Super Shuttle for the first time. It's $64 round trip for two adults in the shuttle van. We're going LAX to Good Neighbor Hotel a block from DL.

Well jrjankowski8, while I hope you have a good experience with Super Shuttle, I know from personal experience that they can be slightly different in terms of where they drop people off at.

A journey that my wife and I took with them included other people, who needed to be dropped off at a mobile home site (trailer park) a few blocks away from Anaheim.

Whilst we were able to get to our hotel destination without any problem personally, going to the mobile home site was a bit scary, with the location of said site looking a bit like something out of the horror comedy movie "Bride of Chucky".

Karmel Shuttle tend just to take tourist visitors rather than LA locals. Whilst neither of us have any problem whatsoever with locals sharing the service with us, this is something to bear in mind.
