We are doing a few days in DL before heading on our cruise in Jan. and were wondering what the best transportation is and approx how much it would cost. I figure it's about 30 to 35 miles away.

Anyone???

Hi Karen,
I don't know the answer to this, but you might want to post the same question on the cruise board. Since the Magic is sailing out of Ca next year, I have seen this same question come up.

Ive been wondering too and I got the answer the Disney is provided transfers from the resorts to the port, however as of now, not from the airport to the resorts and vice versa.
We are doing the same thing and while I seem to have everything set now, the 3 way trip is the 1 thing I have left to figure out. ;)

We took Prime Time Shuttle when returning to Anaheim from the San Pedro cruise terminal, which I'm pretty sure is the one that Disney will be using next year. It cost about $44 for the two of us, and the cost to any DL area hotel would be comparable. Here's their link:

You can get an online quote and make reservations online. Another popular shuttle company is SuperShuttle:

A third option for transportation to LAX is called "Airport Bus", but they don't do the cruise ship terminals - I asked.

I've tried asking this question too and there just doesn't seem to be a lot of responses!

If you do a search on this thread for "limo" or "limos" you will get some recommendations for town car companies if you were considering that route. Not necessarily cheap but . . .

Of course you could always combine using Disney transfers with that service as well.

Or take a taxi.

I hope that more people offer suggestions though as I'm in the same "boat"

Just thought I'd share that I requested quotes from 4 different town car/limo companies. I haven't heard back from all of them yet but the company that is endoresed by Disney is called Best Limosuine.

For a sedan that would hold 2-3 people the quote from the John Wayne airport to Disneyland is $102 (includes taxes, fees, and gratuity)

from Disneyland to the port is $128 (all inclusive)

from the port back to John Wayne is also $128.

I also priced out what it would cost from this company for a 6 passenger stretch limo.

From John Wayne to Disney = $132.29
Disney to the port = $233
Port to John Wayne = $233

Again those included all fees & gratuity.

At least it gives you something to compare. If you use a shuttle remember the cost is per person so depending on if you have a lot of people or not, might be cheaper to do the limo.

Don't do airport bus.
Last January (2004) we did Disneyland and then a carnival cruise. We took the Airport Bus to our hotel and then they came back to get us at the end of our disney vacation. They took us to the airport, dumped us off, and then we got on the cruise bus (which we had to wait for forever).
Our TA made all the arrangements so we were kind of stuck with what we got, or pay more to change it.

The company called "Airport Bus" provides exactly that, a bus that will get you to and from the airport (LAX or SNA), and for that they are very good. They don't go to the cruise ship terminals, and I did ask them when we were looking into arrangements to get back from the LA cruise terminal to our home in Anaheim, a stone's throw from DL. Your best option, as I mentioned above, is one of the two major shuttle van companies, SuperShuttle or Prime Time Shuttle. The cost for the two of us was about $44, not including gratuity (15% suggested). I think the incremental cost for additional passengers was $10 or so (i.e. for 3 people it would have been $54). I believe both companies have options for shared vans, private vans, and even limo service if you want to pay that much.

for all the info. This is great!!!:sunny:

<font color=navy>I called DCL regarding transfers to Disneyland from the cruise ship. It's $25.

You might call whoever booked your cruise, and see if they can arrange for a transfer from DLR to the cruise ship.

When I talked to DCL for this one particular client, they told me that to do transfers from Orlando airport - ship - DLR - LAX would be $69.

You might want to look into it with them.
