Best transportation for a VALUE resort?

Which value resort has the best reputation for reliable and consistent transportation within WDW? I guess what I mean, which ones have the least gripes about things like extra long waits or having to wait for an empty bus if your stop is at the end of a run? I hate being at the last stop in a resort loop, and every bus that's going to the park I want is full and passes us by!

We've never stayed at a value resort, so I'm trying to shop around before we make ressies. I'm trying to think of all my "resort pet peeves" to ask you guys about!

That would be Pop Century - they don't share buses.

It depends when you are visiting. If it is a slow period, mid winter, the All-Stars share buses. During busier times of the year, each All-Star has its own bus.

We've stayed at All-Star Sports the week of Thanksgiving twice, both times the bus was for Sports only.

The number of buses is based on the number of people staying at the resort. Pop Century will have it's own bus. The All-Stars will be based on occupancy...

So there is a method to the madness (so to speak)! So POP doesn't share, but the others do, depending on the time of year? What about late May, early June?

When we stayed at the All Star Music in October, the All Star Sports people were always picked up first and dropped off first.
It was an inconvenience when you were tired and wanted to get back to the hotel.
Although it wasnt that long of a drive between resorts.
But this time we are staying at sports, so we should be making out OK unless they have changed it.

We are staying at All Star Movies in December. (First time on property! ) Would you recommend that we use our rental car to get around instead of Disney transport?

We use our rental car to get to all the parks EXCEPT MK. We are early birds, so we always end up in a parking lot close to front of the parks so at the end of our visit, we take a short walk to our car(about as short as walk to bus stops)and we don't have to wait and we always have a seat! For MK, it's best to take the bus as they drop you off right in front of the park and if you take your rental car, you end up still having to take the ferry or monorail over to the MK. Of course, if you leave the park at closing time, you will probably have to wait for a bus, but they come pretty quickly.

Getting around Disney is fairly easy if you read the signs. I would recommend always taking your rental car to DD as the bus seems to take forever to get there due to several stops and having to wait for people to come/go.

I have stayed @ Music and Movies in the past. This time however I'm staying @ Pop. I have a couple of reasons, but the biggest is they have there own busses. That makes a big difference when your tired at the end of the day.

I'll be there in a couple of weeks and plan on making a report about Pop when I get back.

Pop Century.

I have stayed there 4 times and never had to wait long for a bus or stop at another resort.

This will most likely all change when the rest of the resort opens someday.

During "slower" times, the AS share buses. The Sports people are always picked up and dropped off first; therefore they do have "better" bus service, but once parks close, etc., each resort will have its own buses running.

It's a common misconception that Sports always gets picked up and dropped off first. This is NOT true. There are times when Movies, and even Music get picked up and/or dropped off first.
