best transportation after Wishes?

We are headed to MK tomorrow night for MSEP and Wishes.( 9-10pm show) I was looking for advice on the best way back to AKL after Wishes. (We've got little ones, so we don't want to stay and wait it out. ) We have our van this year, so we could park it at the MK lot. I know there are ferries and trams involved, but a few years ago we waited FOREVER for a resort bus after Wishes. The lines had snaked outside the queue. Any thoughts?

The absolute quickest way would be to walk to the Contemporary(8 minute walk) and take a Taxi from there to AKL(or Valet Park your Van there at CR).

The next best option is to watch Wishes from Main Street USA in the Town Square area and IMMEDIATELY speedwalk to the buses after the last firework has been shot and hope you get on the first bus out.

Many (hundreds?) of guests actually exit DURING the fireworks shows, so
waiting until afterward won't offer short transportation lines.

And yes, AFTER the fireworks there will be MANY hundreds MORE who exit.

There's just not much a guest can do to exit quickly and enjoy the fireworks from inside MK.

We always just find a comfy bench or chairs and sit and wait for the crush of guests to exit the park.

We then slowly meander our way out after the initial rush as waned.

One tip is as Main Street is a crawl, jump into the stores on Main Street and power walk. They all connect and you can skip a bunch of crawling by booking it through them.

Resort Monorail to the parking lots is the quickest way out. Most guests think it is restricted to resort guests only so there's never a line.
