we want to buy a touchscreen computer in the hopes that our autistic son can learn to use it...can you also use a mouse with these? Hoping not to spend too much $$$$, any recommendations?
when our old computer died we got a touchscreen - a couple of weeks ago. We bought a Gateway from Best Buy. The box is put in storage and I don't recall all the details, but I did compare memory, etc among touchscreens and CPUs when I was there. We are so far very happy with it. I have not yet gotten everything fully up and running (printer, photo software, etc), but that is because of lack of time not computer issues. The setup was like 5 minutes - literally take it out of the box and plug it in. The one we bought has wireless internet reception built in (I would imagine most computers these days do). And it came with both a mouse and a keyboard (wireless)
I don't know if the OP was looking for a notebook in particular or a desktop. I think with a kid, although a notebook sounds great, I'm not sure its the best idea considering it might get dropped, etc (and unless it's a toughbook, it will probably break upon dropping).
