HI ALL!!

Im off to my FIRST mnsshp... and i keep reading all the dis threads, but know im wondering...

WHAT IS YOUR NUMBER ONE TIP FOR MNSSHP THAT YOU CAN GIVE TO A NEWBIE??

thanks! :banana::banana:

My tip for MNSSHP is to skip the candy lines. When we went we only did the Tomorrowland trail in the back of Toon Town. The kids got plently of candy doing just that one trail and all other candy lines were really long and just seemed like a waste of good park time to me. Yes, it's fun to trick or treat in the Magic Kingdom, but the candy lines were longer than attraction lines.
Note...the Tomorrowland trail isn't there anymore since Toon Town closed, so don't go looking for that one!

A second tip if you like the Villians is to get up in front of the castle stage for the Villians Tonight show. After the show, the Villians come down and stand in the front of the stage for pictures. I got some GREAT pics with the Villians.

1. eat before you get into the party or eat before the party starts. (don't waste party time eating dinner!!)

2. get a photopass card when you go in. There's some really fun "special effects" that the photopass photographers do during the party. ( Haunted Mansion.... :rolleyes1 )

3. Get a seat on a curb in the HUB facing the entrance to Liberty Square bridge. ( I'm telling you, this is PRIME seating!!) The Headless Horseman rides first in the parade ( DO NOT MISS THIS !!!) and if you're sitting facing the bridge to Liberty Square, he rides straight at you ! I'm not kidding, it's the coolest thing ever !!!

4. The Villans show....this is really fun. You'll see Villans that you don't normally get to see....then they come out in the audience for shaking hands.

5. Character meet and greets : there's all kinds of character meet and greet stations in little nooks and cranies....so keep an eye out! We saw Aladin and Jasmine tucked over by the Magic Carpet ride and there was no line at all ! If you want to see the Seven Dwarfs, make sure you're on line at 6:00pm. The line is INSANE otherwise.

6. By the Carousel, they'll bring out Cinderella's glass coach for getting your picture taken. It's more beautiful in real life.... (and there's a candy station right next to it !) Great photopass pics....

7. Ride Splash Mountain when it gets dark.... it's so much fun when you're at the top of the ride to see all the Halloween lights in the park.... (they light the park all eerie and foggy and different colors. it's such fun!!)

8. Take a nap during the day, especially if you're bringing small children. Just take your time and HAVE FUN !!! the party is worth every penny and I promise, it'll be a highlight to your trip. We had THE BEST time ever !!! :woohoo:

Sorry, you wanted one tip........well, I went a little overboard!! :rolleyes1

My tip would be to look online for someone to post their map/guide of this years' party. It will show you where to meet the characters and what the times are of the various shows parades (usually the 2nd parade is less crowded) and fireworks.

I would strongly reccomend having a game plan for the evening before arriving, so that you don't miss something you had your heart set on. It's dark, and there's a lot to see, and you don't want to waste time.

I also would keep an eye out for postings online about character greetings. Someone here will no doubt have a list of what characters were out for the party they went to and where they were located.

Bottom line- have a plan, be well rested, and don't waste time dinning durring the party hours.

read eevrything you can about the MNSSHP.

Because we were prepared we got a lot done for our money.

Went to the dance party closer to closing. 5 year old grand daughter and another little girl were the only ones here. SHe got a lot of attention from Jessie and Woody with dancing alone with her for the longest time.

We got to meet a lot of characters. (but we also had a few adults that could go off and stand in a line to wait.

example- the 7 dwarfs do not come out until 7 and about 6:30 we sent one of our adults there to wait. We went and stood in line for pictures taken with the Cinderella carriage while the poppop and grand daughter rode Peter pans Flight.

We got our photos taken with the carriage and walked over to the 7 dwarfs for about a 10 minute wait-- (the line was closed at that point)

Get a good spot in Liberty Square for the parade...we were able to sit on one of the walls and got a good view of the Headless Horseman! Other than that, just enjoy the atmosphere and of course, watch the great fireworks!

Your ticket will get you into the park at 4:00pm.

This is most definitely my #1 tip.

My #2 would be to do everything not party-related well before 7. This includes eating, shopping, must-do rides, etc.

If you stay late in the party, the character lines are much shorter. Around 11 we were basically able to walk right up to any characters we wanted to see.

Also regarding the Villains Mix&Mingle, there's no time to meet all villains (at least in one show), so you should pick one or two and ask the CMs in the front where those villains will be shaking hands, so you'll be one of the firsts in the fast growing line.

If you end up first in you first pick, you should have time for a second M&G.

If there's another one you wish to have your pic taken with, the show takes place at various times throughout the night.

No photopass here, so have your camera ready.

Have fun,

Mx

My #1 tip is DO NOT focus on rides / every day attractions. Focus on activities that are exclusive to the party. Save everything else (except Haunted Mansion, of course, and maybe the People Mover since you get a good view of party activities while riding it) for another day.

:rolleyes1

if i already have a photopass card can i use that one or do i need to get a new one?

love all the tips PLLEASEEEE KEEP THEM COMING!!:banana::banana:

Side Note to this, last year they did NOT have Cinderella's coach there actually I didnt' see it anywhere last year. Last year it was the 7 Dwarfs there.... but still really cool cause sometimes it's hard to get a pic with the 7 Dwarfs..

yes you acutally get a different photopass for the halloween party, with this photopass card you get a discount on the prints....

also I suggest going in costume, it makes the experience so much more fun, and it's one of the only times adults can go in the parks in costume....plus if you do the trick or treating don't let peoples talks of lines scare you away, the lines go super quick you just walk through and they put candy in your bag...everyone has fun with this....and most importantly ...JUST HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3:

I second the comment about reading the boards after the first party occurs...someone will post this year's map and information on where and what characters are available for meet & greet. This is invaluable information if you want to squeeze in as much as you can!

Oh, and Cinderella's carriage was there last year, it was over in the stroller parking area most people on here call the Skyway...

I don't know where this location is ? "The Skyway?" I love haveing pictures in front of a carriage..please help a brotha out....lol

Agree with most of all of what PP said. Except the carriage was out, it was just in front of where the sky tram entered the swiss villa. Get into park at 4, and eat, We had reservations for 4:30 at crystal palace and it was perfect timing. Before that we had BBB reservations at DTD for my daughter. Just have fun enjoy, get a good seat for the parade, it our favorite of all the parades. And make sure you see the ghost lady in front of Haunted Mansion ( I'm sure she has a name but I don't know it). If you have littler ones, make sure yoou hit a dance party, our daughter loves them.

I'm so excited! I'd like to read some more tips about this since it'll be my first time going to this party. We'll be on our honeymoon but it seems like other groups of just adults have had a blast. I think I'm going to dress up... but as what?!
