Everyone says the first 2 weeks in December are the best times to go because crowds are low before Christmas. This year then must be against the norm because at the 11 month window I could not get 2 rooms at the BCV.I had to fight for a BCV 2 bedroom and had to settle for WLV studio for my 2nd room that I need. They had no availability at the BWV for my dates and I cant believe that many people are going in the first 2 weeks in December.I think the only time you could get rooms are in the first 2 weeks in sept due to school going back.maybe I keep picking the popular dates! I know that the Mousefest is the last week in November and into the first week of December so maybe that has something to do with the low room availability. I see others having reservation problems all year long no matter when they are going.

Just because DVC rooms (and even WDW rooms) are booked, that doesn't mean large crowds. You get the big crowds when the thousands of non-Disney rooms are also booked and the folks are hitting the parks.

The first two weeks of December have become very popular for folks to take advantage of the low points and start their holiday season. Many on-line groups also meet during this time. Rooms/villas are hard to get but the crowds are still low.

We've gone to WDW the first or second week of December the past 5 years, the last 3 at BWV. It's a great time to go - crowds are low, Christmas festivities are in full swing. Many DVC'ers have discovered this great time and combined with low points, the DVC resorts are usually soldout. DVC also holds their annual member meetings at this time. I make my BWV standard view 1 bedroom res day by day at 11 months in January. BWV is often soldout before the 7 month window, especially standard view.

We've gone to OKW in early December every year since we joined in '92. Back in the old days, we used to make our December ressie after we got back from our September trip! Not any more -- we now make the ressie at the 11 month window. So far we haven't needed to do it day by day, just once at the end.

Family and I are going Dec 1-9 and I had no trouble in getting a 1 BR at the 11 month window. Don't understand why you were having trouble with the possible exception is that it looks as though you were looking for 2 br rooms.

I can't remember for certain, but I think a majority of the rooms at BCV are 1BR, then studio, then 2 BR???

Can I ask what you mean by fight for? Why would you have to fight for something at 11 months?

had to settle for WLV studio for my 2nd room that I need

I am guessing that you are a BCV owner so how did you get the VWL room? Did you wait until 7 months for that? And the same would be the case for the BWV at 7 months for the beginning of December.

I was able to get three reservations (1 two bedroom and 2 studios) the week of New Year's at the BCV and that is a very difficult time, so I disagree with you that making a reservation 11 months out is hard to do. I have never had a reservation problem.
