Hi,

We have been to Disney several times (April, June and lots in July!) We only have the opportunity to go either July or August next time and I was wondering if there was any difference at all between the 2 months or not? We were planning on leaving around 20th July but can go anytime between 12th July and the 15th Aug. So.... my question after all that lol, does it make sense to leave it until the end of Aug, bearing in mind that the Florida kids are back at school or does it make no difference as us from the UK make it for up it lol and its just as busy as we would prefer to leave around the 20th July as we normally do!

Thanks in adavnce and I apprecaite all answers, Jo

Do you mean you can depart up until August 15th? Becasue that's what I'd do! :)

These are this years rates for Coronado springs over different dates (standard room) and I can only assume the crowds reflect Disney's room pricing:

Summer June 4 - July 1

$185.00

Independence Day
July 2-4

$205.00

Summer Jul 5 - Aug 14

$185.00

Value Aug 15 - Sept 30

$149.00

Yes we can depart up until 15th August, but I have heard that the first week when they drop prices (15th-22nd) can be really really busy because of this reason. I can cope with it being as busy as end July but not much more!!!!

Oh, good point! I'd not heard that!

ETA: I just checked my tour guide mike, and although I can't share much detail he votes this years Aug 1-15 ast 5 out of 5 busy and then 16-28 as 4 out of 5....All of July is 5 out of 5 too.

I tend to trust TGM but he is just one source of disney info. :)

Never been in July but I would vote for as late as possible in August. Many of the US schools are back in session by mid August which means for quieter parks. The difference in the heat/humidity between July and August is pretty negligible. We have been once in late August (19th) and are going back again late Auugst this year.

We go for 25 nights each August, its busy upto around the 22nd (day flight prices drop) so if going for 2 weeks your 1st week will be busy, 2nd week quieter. Go any of July and August upto 22nd and its very busy.
Best option definitely as late as you can before they go back to school. We come home 29th and expect last week to be walk on for rides.

Anyone interested in a cruise while there in August, its the same for cruise pricing, later in August cheaper the rates get.

Thanks for the replies! Definitely food for thought! We would personally prefer to go end July, its just easier to arrange for us (jobs etc) but will now be looking into the end of Aug! Thanks again:worship:
