best time to go

I am currently in the planning mode for our trip to Florida and was wondering what would be the best time to visit Universal? We went to Florida last March which had great weather but the Disney parks were pretty crowded so this next trip we thought possibily going in Febuary. We would make sure we would not go during the presidents week-end. How are crowds at Universal in Feb? We are not planning on staying on site but looking at staying on I-drive. Any info would be appreciated since the last time I was at Universal IOA didn't even exist. Thanks so much

Now is the best time to go.
Since you just posted the message, obviously that excludes Presidents Day weekend. So anything from Tuesday of this week going forward is a great time to visit. The place is a ghost town in the morning, yet all rides work, even water. I think they're finishing up rehab on Popeye, not sure if it's back up, but everything else should be working. Crowds start to appear in the afternoon, but it's not bad at all.
Great weather predicted this week, lows in the 60s, highs close to 80.
Stay across the street from the parking garage at these hotels, or the HGI down the street.
