we'd like to hear from the camping folks, when's the best time to go and avoid all the crowds? we went a few years ago in October and the crowds were not too bad. no kids, just 2 adults and 2 dogs, planning a trip any time next year and staying in a camper. thanks for the help any advice is welcome.

Weather and crowd-wise, I would offer early November or early December (the first two weeks of each). Weather stays pretty warm until about this time of year or a few weeks sooner but you run into the Halloween season (which seems to get bigger each year). The Fort also fills up around Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons naturally. You also have an ebb-and-flow where the Fort is more crowded on weekends than on weekdays.

If I had to pick one two-week-or-less period I would say early December. The theme parks and resorts are already decorated for Christmas, the weather is nice, the crowds are less. Early spring has the same weather (mid-Feb to late April) but you battle the spring break crowds.

So that's my two cents! :3dglasses

And really, any time at the Fort is a good time to go if you're there....

As bama ed said, early Nov. We've always found the week before Thanksgiving week to be a very good week to visit. Weather is still good, Chirstmas Decorations are up and the crowds are slim. But no matter when you go it's always a "GOOD TIME"..Your at WDW and the Fort. FUN FUN FUN.......

I agree with the previous posters. Also first part of Jan. Many have returned home from the big holiday, and the weather is usually agreeable.

Agree with Bama Ed. Early Dec (first 2-3 weeks) is our favorite time to go. Weather is dry and nice (70-80) holiday festivities are wonderful. Crowds used to be quite low, but are picking up a bit each year as the word gets out. Still what I'd call low-moderate - we never waited more than 20 minutes for anything last year (except TSM).

Early Nov is nice crowd-wise too, but a bit warmer. In fact we'll be there a week from today!

As always the Dis Members above are right on. Early December is great! There is still a need for a jacket most evenings or if you are an early morning person. But my thought is you can keep putting more clothes on but in the summer you can only take so much off!! And the Christmas decorations are just something that everyone should experience. :santa:

I have also been to Disney the end of January and the weather and crowds were nice. Though that was only one year and I would wonder more about the "usual weather" that time of year.
