We are trying to decide to go to Disney World in late August or early September and were wondering which time would be best to go crowd wise and weather wise. Thanks for your input.
Best time,
ANYTIME
Seriously though, the free dine will make it heavier traffic IMHO, the weather will be the same, Expect rain, Hope for no Serious weather(think hurricanes) , and enjoy the HOT days..........
We were there the week of September 14 last year. The crowds were way better than in June or July even though there was free dining! The humidity was the worst part of the trip...well other than the anticipation of Hurricane Ike. I would definately go back during the same time.
We went the week after labor day for the last two years and the crowds were minimal. Going again same time this year. Making the most of our preschooler's lax schedule while we can.

I would push it back as far as possible, I think every week counts when you're trying to get away from the summer heat. With all the kids being back in school after Labor Day I would think the crowds would be at a minimum at that time. We'll be going the first week of Oct and I'm not looking forward to the heat, but the free dining is why we booked. We just plan on taking it day by day, ride by ride and resting whenever anyone needs it. Make it an enjoyable experience despite the weather!

We went the third week of August in 2007 and the second week of September in 2008. We found that August was in fact more humid and more crowded. However, we still had an awesome time and the crowds were VERY manageable. I think the time we were there was probably right as schools started their semester. In September 2008, the crowds were quite light even with the free DDP and though it was still hot, we really could see a difference in the heat- especially at night. Honestly, there is not a HUGE difference between the two, but I would opt for September again if it were an option for us. The further you get into school being in session, I think the better your chances of lower crowds. Just be sure to make those ADRs early if going during free dining!
anywhere from late august-early september I think would be the same amount of crowds. I dont think its too busy that time of year because of june But I think it may be a bit cooler in september
Thanks for all the info!!! Since it doesnt appear that there is much difference between the two times, I guess which ever one fits best in our schedule would be just fine!
