My sister and I are giving our parents a week at WDW for their 35th anniversary, I have never been to Fla. in the fall/winter months and being from NJ all I can imagine is freezing in my Uggs. I was thinking 1st week in Dec since their anniversary is in Oct (give them time to take off work), I guess this is few question post, which week would be best and when do they put up xmas decorations that may sway me, and what is the weather like in Nov/Dec, they arent going for pool lounging so cooler weather is ok as long as it isnt freezing. Any help would be great as I want to make this a vacation they wont forget since they have done so much for me! :dumbo: :simba: :figment: :stitch: :goofy: :mickeybar :maleficen :sulley: :hmghost: :tigger: :ccat: :mickeyjum :donald:

Hi...what a nice gift.

The weather in Orlando in Nov/Dec is just beautiful, cooler temps and no humidity. I would choose the first 2 weeks of Dec to go (leaving by the 16th or so) as it REALLY starts to get very crowded from that date on.

We went last year and are retruning again this year. The weather during the day is jeans and a light jacket...at night it varies...it can be really cold (last Dec one night in the 40's) or very comfortable. I packed layers. I also wore my Uggs! they were really comfy to walk around in. the weather vaires this time of year, so my best advice is to be prepared for anything (definately scarfs and gloves) Being from Long Island, it is not the kind of cold we are used to.

For a real treat, make sure they go mto the Very merry chirstmas party (go during a week night weekends are more crowded). going this time of year is really like 2 trips in one...during the day you have all the fun of WDW and at night it is a winter holiday wonderland...including snow! The best time of the year to go...great weather and so beautiful!

we always go the first week of December and leave no later then the 20th or so, depending on when xmas is. The weekends can be busier with the locals but the big crowd comes closer to xmas. Weather really can vary, it has been in the 80's during the dya and as bad as the 30's at night. If we see them well say hi and happy aniversery. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I did want to have them see mvmcp, when you went in the 1st week in dec did they have the holiiday decorations up and is the party on at this time as well?

The holiday decorations were being put up when we were their the first week of November 2 years ago. The Christmas party will be going on during the first 2 weeks of December and all of the decorations should be up. It is during these weeks they generally tape the Christmas Parade for TV. If you want something else special for them to do their is a Yultide Tour that is available after November 28th- just for looking at the holiday decorations and how the holidays are done Disney style.

What a great gift! If you're looking for a less crowded time, the weeks before and after Thanksgiving week are supposedly better. The first MVMCP is in mid-November (the 17th), so decorations should be up starting then on Main Street.

We were there last year for Thanksgiving week and though sweatshirts were necessary for evenings and mornings, the days were sunny and warm. We were even able to swim a few times. I like the fall at Disney, I hope they do too!

You're right on the money! The best week all year to go to WDW is the first week of December! The weather is wonderful, and there are relatively few lines (the park will not be empty, rest assured). It's about the least crowded it gets all year. Have a MAGICal trip! :cheer2:

The first week of Dec is a great choice :thumbsup2. The xmas decorations are usually up by thanksgiving. The weather is great you picked a great time to go.

We went from the 4th to the 10th last December and it was fabulous. Every day but one was in the 70's very little rain. The parks are all decorated and all the Christmas shows are in full swing. And the crowd levels are very low. I would definately recommend the "Candlelight Processional" at the American Pavillion in EPCOT. It was the highlight of our trip last year!!
