Best time to go in October?

So I've been to Disney a million times but this is the first time I'm actually planning to just go and it not be for a specific event. It is my batchelorette party and we want to go for Food and Wine. I'm looking at October and friend will be using DVC points (not picky on where we stay DVC will save us money) but outside of Columbus Day I have no clue if the different weekends have different crowd levels. I'm thinking the 20, 21, and 22 but have no clue where that falls DVC points wise and crowd wise. I know Saturday at Food and Wine will be busy no matter what (and would possibly switch that to Friday) but besides Food and Wine how are the other parks usually?

I don't know why I suddenly started stressing over a weekend this trip haha. I've dealt will all the crowds imaginable and it won't make or break the trip just unsure which October weekend to chose for a quick trip.

Any time that avoids Columbus Day, the weekend before and the day after works for us. Also, if you want to book an Epcot area resort on DVC points you'd best do it 11 months out, Food & Wine makes those resorts book up fast.

Thanks Bill. I would love an Epcot resort but it is already past 11 months so know that probably won't happen. Since the friend is pretty much gifting me his DVC points (he is my bridesman) then I'm not picky. I told him even if we could only get Saratoga Springs or Old Key West I would be happy because I would be at Disney with my besties a trip we haven't ever all done together.

Don't know about the crowd thing, as I don't follow that.

But congrats on the engagement. :cool1: Or after 17 years of marriage, maybe I should say "my condolences on your engagement" :teeth:

Haha. Thank you. We've been engaged for 2 years now! We just got very analytical about the wedding so pushed it a whole year further out then we originally planned. For whatever reason this trip makes it seem so much more real. I've been wearing the ring for 2 years but now planning this (even though I have my wedding dress, venue, etc) just kind of made it the OMG moment.

Disney has been a big part of the relationship as we had a few anniversaries on Disney cruises, more birthdays at WDW then I can count, and our engagement was on the Fantasy. If I had my way the wedding would have been on the beach at the Poly. We kind of settled with ourselves that we will do a vow renewal there one day. I kept thinking of places to go that would be me for this and Vegas was meh I like it but always get sick, going home to Texas felt bland, and staying here in the city while fun for my bridal party is just another day for me. I mentioned Food and Wine to the girls (and guy) and they all unanimously agreed that would be it. Of course I'm a big Disney planner so I'm probably planning more then most brides haha.

Congrats!!!
Oct 1-Nov 21 is choice season for DVC points. Which is usually the same or 1-2 points different for studio rentals from Adventure season(cheapest season)

Dates look good. Should be low crowds. Epcot will be more crowded with local on the weekend but the rest of the parks are not very crowded. I would do Friday over Saturday at Epcot as it wont really get packed till around 6pm.

Have a great time

Thanks we went with the 19-22. My friend actually just booked a cash room because he wanted to be close to Epcot as well. So didn't end up having to consider DVC.

Now to decide if we want to do MNSSHP, or do Epcot on Friday and MK on Saturday. Also want to squeeze in Avatar at DAK somehow so maybe do that on Sunday before departure. Yay for planning haha.
