Best Time to Go in February 2022

Thinking about returning in February next year. We were there the end of April (busy but not ridiculous, hot but not unbearable) but want to come and bring the little one. Thinking February would be a good time since it should be cooler and generally less crowded. Any specific weeks in February to avoid or any weeks that are just perfect Disney weeks? Thanks!

Funny.. I am thinking of going the same time and wondering the same thing..lol

We're going Jan 26th - Feb 9th. Originally I had it booked for a week later but realized it was getting to close to President Day's weekend. Also, if they have it in 2022, that would be the same weekend as the Princess Run. It can get really busy around that time. So, I suggest early February if you want to avoid crowds. There's no guarantee, that's just from my experience.

Also, if you go earlier in Feb you might get a chance to see the Festival of the Arts if they have it again next year.

I'm personally a bit worried about the weather. I'm from Southern California so I'm use to warmer/dryer weather. I know February can be hit or miss. I watch a lot of vlogs that take place in Feb and I've seen everything from freezing to super hot. But I do believe that technically February is supposed to be "dryer" as far as Orlando goes.

Go the first 2 weeks of February. Once you get to mid-February you run into lots of people from the NorthEast who have February school vacation. This usually coincides with Presidents Day.

Looks like I need to look into the first couple of weeks. Are there any specific issue with the first week of March if we move it that late? I am just not sure how to really figure out what all is going on generally in and around Disney (like the princess run mentioned above) during that time frame and I know absolutely nothing about spring breaks or winter breaks or whatever (President's Day I did know to avoid, so I feel good on that one HAHA).

In the past, we found the Spring or Fall as best times to go to Disney. Way too hot/crowded in the summer for us and just not enjoyable being outside in all that heat, we would never choose to go then. Probably more crowded around major holidays (i.e. Spring Break, President's day, Easter, etc.) but it seems Disney has way more people going there then in the past. It seemed crowded to us most of the time we were last there. Some Disney events don't really impact park attendance since we happened to be there during one of those cheer competitions and it seemed they contestants were mostly practicing or competing rather then being at the park. Only if you stayed at the same resort where they were would you notice a difference.

We have also gone in the Fall after most schools were back in session and it seemed much less crowded. I think parents are less likely to take their kids out school right after the school year starts.

March 1, 2022 is Mardi Gras, which tends to bring in a few extra people, and then you’ll be at the very start of Spring Break for some parts of the country (Monday 3/14 starts Spring Break week in my area of Texas, so probably most of the state). Personally, I’d go in February, before President’s Day, although we like January better because DVC points costs are lower.

We were there then end of April with many of the cheer and dance competitions. We noticed a decent number in the parks, but not too bad. We are trying to go before March because my little one turns 3 and if we go before then at least that is one less ticket to buy,

HI OP. We have been in mid February once, around the 10th to 17th. I remember it being cold, but not too crowded at the time.
Since then, we have been going end of February and first week of March. That works out well for us. Any Mardi Gras crowds didn't bother us. We like the weather then too, it's usually a little bit warmer. We try to go before Spring break really takes off in mid March.
We used to go in early Nov or Dec and loved that time of year with the decorations.

Thanks for the info on Mardi Gras, never would have thought of it having an impact on Disney! How is the weather typically in January?

The most important thing about January weather is that the humidity isn’t miserable, and it’s one of the lower months for rainfall. Otherwise it can be very cold (lows in 40-50s) or pretty warm (highs in 80s). In general, expect 50-60s in the mornings, 80s in the afternoon, chilly after sundown. We pack layers because no matter what the forecast is the day before we leave, it can change. I have a huge collection of WDW hoodies, sweatshirts, etc. bought because I didn’t think I’d need one!

I just started thinking about going 1/29/22-2/9/22. We have always gone around Labor Day and are currently booked for then now. My DH turns 50 though on 1/31 and thought that would be pretty neat to be there. I am also wondering about how cool it gets. I can handle wearing shorts in high 50's and up normally (from Missouri). The big thing and the unknown is how back to normal do you think it will be. We went last September and it was an awful trip. We don't want to go back until everything is back and going. We missed it all too much.

How about the last week of Feb going into March?
In reading some posts on other websites, (disney tourist blog for example) many seem to think that last week of Feb first week of March may be busier than others (basically Presidents Day on sounds like crowd increases) so we decided not to try for that week. I think we have narrowed things down to one of two weeks. Either 1/23-1/29 or 1/30-2/5.

We go to disney usually the end of Feb and the first of March. The crowds, IMO, are not crazy yet from Spring breakers. We actually love that time of year before the crowds hit. I guess it's all in your perspective, as another poster on here has a different opinion. We found that the first of March was definitely before the spring break crowds, a sweet spot before all that craziness.

This is when we always go. It depends. If it overlaps with Mardi Gras expect lots more crowds. Also, people tend to tack on a week after the princess marathon, which brings in more people.

Next year it overlaps with Mardi Gras. What kind of increase are we talking? Is it crazy busy just because of Mardi Gras or just noticeable for a few days (I assume the whole week is not crazy)? We are still considering late January and late February, but my wife has now thrown early December into the mix, so I am basically just trying to get all the info I can so that she can tell me when I get to go back! HAHA

I remember it being a lot busier with college students and such. But just around the holiday if my memory serves me correctly.
